"Pump gas" doesn't literally refer to fuel that is coming from a pump, because quite obviously, ALL fuel has to be pumped one way or another.

The term "pump gas" has been used by hot rodders for decades, which specifically refers to fuel ratings anywhere from 87-94 octane fuel (more specifically 91-93 though) where the engine doesn't require any special tuning, pumps, high compression or tricks to run in a souped up engine.

pump gas and a "mild" tune. i just got retuned yesterday. from a 40 roll in 95+ heat with 245 eagle gt tires, i spin a lot.
