Messing with a Lotus Elise
So i got my radar detector today and went on a little cruise to test it out. I was heading to the highway and along cop infested roads to see it it was working and along came this 2008 or 2009 Lotus Elise that pulled in front of me so i was just going to follow him to see if i could hang with a Lotus. So we come to the right turn so we can then merge onto Highway 170 and he start to punch it hard so i drooped it to 2nd and punched it as well and i was right on his tail up until about 100mph and then we both let off cuz there was traffic ahead. Don't know much about lotus except that they are a $47,000+ car.
So did i do good keeping up with this Lotus?

Not really. They are not straightaway pullers, unless you ran into a K-serie powered one. Those are common in those nowadays. Stock however, it would outcorner and outbrake you rather easily. You might have ran an Exige. I can see a SS/TC beating an Elise on a straight.

If you ran an Elise it only has a 190 hp Toyota 2zz in it. Or the Elise Supercharges, Around 230-240 then there's the Exige and Exige s which are 260 and 300 respectively. An 05 Elise runs a 13.5 according to Car and Driver
Did it have a big Wing on the back??? Soft or Hard Top?

But They're not drag cars theyre road racing cars. I've had the chance to drive one on a closed track and they are amazing in terms of handling and are a blast to drive. I will own one in my lifetime, Preferably a Lime Green Exige S with the track package.

But that's one small reason it's known as a challenging track. You have to have handling AND power.
I like the Elise/Exige, but I like my cars to have power to match the handling so I'd have to do something about that if I owned one. They do have good power to weight but at higher speeds that means less and less and aerodynamics and HP mean more and more. But for less money I can get something that has both and I don't even mean a FWD like the SS/TC.
