dont care if they couldnt drive or not and they were all manuals. i race the same guy every friday night when i get done work. black mach 1 with exhaust and i beat him everytime. a cobalt breaking into the 12s off the showroom floor. that was the dumbest thing i have ever heard. it is the fastest and cheapest fwd car.
It is one of the fastest and cheapest. My point is a well driven Mach1 5spd is going to rip a well driven stock tc to pieces.

And 9k invested in the GTO to run low 10s not as impressive as what the GT500 can do with less like a pulley exhaust and tune and break 10s. And lol I want to see a civic with only 3k in it run high 11's.

so besides him... no one? lol... of course Ls1 fanboys live by his time for their car as well
Theres several on stangnet that have went 13.0 flat but id have to look through and see if theres any faster. And while I was raised ford ive always respected the LS1. But the fact a 1.1L less displacement motor with 1 less gear ran within a tenth of a LS1 driven by the same driver id say thats pretty impressive.

am saying that the car is cheaper than the Gt500. That is what i am saying. My civic is a 94eg hatch with a 1992 b18c gsr motor. The motor came from the junkyard(150bucks).. GUy did not know what it was worth. Got all my internal parts from my buddy for nothing. I traded him my 4wheeler that didnt run. He wanted it. It has eagle racing rods, arp head studs, forged pistons, new crank seals(go bad alot), welded crank, .20 over, ported head, and balanced motor. The balancing and getting the head ported was the most about 1800 and all my internals were about 500 but traded wheeler. Then got a hondadata tune. Turbo kit is just a t3-t4 he had laying around and he made all the piping, and i bought the intercooler. About 600 for all that. only running 17psi.

Yeah ok im calling BS on this. There still needs to be driveline work done as well as exhaust work and other crap. Sorry but ive seen hondas need far more than that to run 11's. Youve just described a low 13 e/t civic.

And of course it was cheaper your talking about 2 used cars!

Hell had a 12 second RS camaro that I spent 2k on including the price of the car. But it was just an old relic. Not nearly as comfortable or as reliable as a GT500. You comparing a used car to a new.

Of course you can build a used car cheaper than a new one and be faster.

I know im on a site for a chevy car, but i cant believe how much some people go around nuthugging a company, anyone who knows **** about cars will admit a mustang is probably cheapest platform to build a good track car.

I want to see pics and timeslips of said Civic. I find it odd out of no where you have a Civic that runs 11s and traps 126mph.

HAHA where is the the proof of this GTO also. Do you realize a Procharger alone is almost $7k and an LS7 crate engine is about 14k so how the hell are you going to buy the motor, install it, and add the blower and tune for $9k?

except the LS1 was tested by him in mid summer... just saying, he even admitted in better conditions, it'd go faster... of course you look at it like that, I look at it as after 7 years and a couple of cams later, Ford was finally able to compete with a car that debuted in 1997

And the 04-04 Cobra is the only good Mustang? Right, 5.0 can run 12s with parts bought from explorers in the junkyard. 4v Cobras and Mach 1s are mid 13s from the factory, hell 2vs can run low 13 very easily. Liking CHevys is one thing, I do that. Being blind and ignorant to any other fast car is retarded.
like i told the other guy sorry about that. that wasnt me it was my step brother. i leave all my passwords on my computer on posted notes. i am not a big ford fan but i do respect everything.

Well honestly the 5.0L was phased out for emissions reasons. And that same arguement could be used against GM. Wel it had to keep a larger displacement motor to compete with Fords smaller engines. Also the Mach1 he ran was ran in the august issue i believe. But either its a different recipe to do the same job.

Man, I'm tired of hearing ignorant fanboys claim that GT500's cost $60k-$75k. Sure, there were a few people who paid way over sticker back when they first came out, but they can be had for UNDER MSRP now if you look around.

How about a BRAND NEW *CONVERTIBLE* GT500 for $44,675:

I'm not a big GT500 fan, myself, but the list of cars capable of high 11's/low 12's BONE STOCK for $45k brand new is pretty short. The LS3 Vette is comparable, and is a GREAT car, no doubt, but it's ignorant to act like the GT500 isn't a great deal as well.

Guess its easier to turn a blind eye and be ignorant than respect a well made vehicle.

well, to be honest, that is a '09 GT500(the '10s are already out)... OF COURSE they came off the price, whoever buys that car, is going to take a beating in resale, because the day you drive it off the lot, its already over a year old.... and it was on the lot for over a year..............because it WAS $60,000...

If a coupe GT500 was $60k+, then the vert would be $65k+. So, this car is all-of-a-sudden $20k cheaper than it was a couple months ago?

Keep telling yourself that.

Thats because thats what the DEALER was asking for it. Just because thats what a dealer is asking doesn't mean thats how much it costs or thats how much its worth. There were dealers asking 80k-90k for a GT500 in 07. I paid 60k OTD for mine in November of 06. I hate looking back knowing I did but I got the car I wanted, when I wanted it. At the time 10k over sticker was a hell of a deal and those prices continued up until 08. If I would have waited for sticker it would have been at least middle or end of 08. Some dealers were asking sticker when they first came out but it was far and few between.

Did you build a vert?

Last time I was on there a week ago you could build a GT500 for 47-48k.

Youre really dumb. A GT500 and terminator will hold well over 700 whp stock internals. Hell the block in the SVT was rated to 1600 BEFORE it cracked. How about any of ur chevys? Not one chevy can handle the abuse and tolerences of an SVT. You wanna boost a camaro to that whp? Get ready for engine work.

Forged FI modular motors = WIN
NA GM motors = FAIL
