Sorta but not really set up perfect. Look at people pulling 360whp on the K04 which is a 36-lbs min. And ZZP making a lot more with cams. Again that's an estimate AGP just says it's good for 440hp on race gas and it's maxed now. I know it's making power because I trapped 95mph in the 1/8 on just 22psi/93 octane. 22psi/93 vs 28psi/110 is a huge diff. I was going to add cams and a small shot though I think I'm done with it. I was actually getting a white VIII before I bought this but it was sold out from under me.

 

That sucks dude, my x was almost sold out from under me. Its a nerve racking situation

 

So, more win.

2 more WRX's (one'08 or newer, one '02-ish ). I'm starting to think I may be faster than a WRX. Not an STI, mind you.

They lined up to race each other on a three lane...legal race track, and I decided I wanted in on the fun. I lined up with them and we all took off from about 10. I had it in first. Big mistake. I had to shift in about a second. Once I hit second though, I caught and passed them both. Fun!

A big GMC Duramax. He lined up next to me and sat there for a long time looking at my car. I was happy to just ignore him, but I figured what the heck. I dropped a gear, he started to go....I needed to drop another gear (you know you're driving a cobalt when second is your favorite gear) and did a mild slingshot past him.

There was another WRX or two, and a honduh, but meh.

wait. ok, I'll tell you about the honda. He pulled up next to me, started to go, I even waited a second. I went through first and kissed second, and was half a car ahead.

I keep meeting this awesome red cobalt. We never get to run and I don't know what he has done. I have a sneaking suspicion he may be faster than me. Like, a lot.

I like my car.

 

Good kills. Watch out for thos diesels though, they can be fast and still look stock.

 

LOL how true! I have seen a dually 4x4 dodge run a 12 second 1/4. The only thing that looked different than stock was the huge billowing black smoke cloud coming out of the exhaust. MMMM sexy

 

Hey Ajjaro, we couldnt find time last summer to setup a meet, could be great to see how your Evo fair versus the TC, have you done the mods you planned last summer?
Only new thing i will have other than the tune is an intake and catless downpipe.

I also agree a stage 2 like SS/SC should pull a stock Sti or Evo, i was pulling on stock ones when i was stock and barely pulled a ss/sc stage 2 with exhaust/intake at the track.

 

i dont have full turboback, i decided to keep it legal for now, i have a catted non widemouth downpipe and catback exhaust (could gain about 15-20 awhp with a widemouth and cat delete). Im most probably going back to stock really soon, you can find my sale thread in the lounge.

It would have to be soon, do you winter drive your car?

Yes i drive it in winter, but winter tires id need a 60mph roll at least, with 205 50 17 tires i have no traction whatsoever in 2nd and not much at 60 in 3rd...

 

I brought out my mustang. for those who may not know, I also have an '85 gt mustang that's fairly stock.

You guys talk about people not wanting to race. My cobalt is most likely faster than my mustang.(I love my mustang, but I'm also realistic ) But the difference in peoples reaction to it is staggering. They see the cobalt and it's rev, rev, race, race. I can barely get a break. Go out in my mostly stock 5.slow? (240k mi. runs 14.6 @ sea level) It's crazy. absolutely no one lined up with me. Zero. They just creep up, staring.

I guess this isn't a mustang forum, though. so I guess I'll leave it at that. especially because I don't have any new kills to report.

 

Even going from a 2.4L Cobalt to a SS Cobalt you get significantly less people people wanting to race. I get nothing with my Cobra.

I'd race you in my mustang anyway though mostly because I just love racing and would love to see if I can at least keep your taillights in view hehe

Anyway. People have all but stopped racing me. I finally got to race that red SS SC. It was not as impressive as I thought. I think if we had a proper dig race, I'd win.

What's with people out here? I found this purple Ion redline and pulld up next to him. he was speeding and I don't like to speed, so I let him go. I finally caught him at a light and we were both in adjacent turn lanes. He then did the stragnest thing, he threw his car into reverse and pulled in behind me! What? the light turned green and I sat there thoroughly confused, so he revs at me. I roll forward a bit and he blasts around me. ????Wh..aaat???


Why did he do that? his lane was a turn lane. he knew that. but why come in behind me? why rev? why come around me in screaming fury? Aaaargh! I don't understaaaand!!! It seemed like he would have been a good race if not for all that mess.

And people love to race when you're not expecting it. then when you pull up next to them, just wave excitedly and take off like grandma. That happened to me with this mustang that did that at a light. He took off like a madman. I was like "Oooh, fun. Ok!" then I pulled up and these two old guys were laughing and waving so I thought, hey, I'll give them a run. Might be fun.

No. They didn't even try. Just rolled off and...nothing. Jst nothing.
