huh? you stuck with a "cammed" not cams LS1 with exhaust only? OK. BTW, he probably wasn't spraying, but just finally got enough traction to lay into it and LS motors move out NA above a hundred. I wonder why he even bothered wasting his gas? Guess he was playing with you?

Tyler

BTW, punctuation is your friend! Makes it a whole bunch easier to read about your beatings that way...

i doubt a ls1 with a cam and probably a few more mods than what the op said had a problem getting traction after about 30mph.

although i think the race should have resulted in a worse loss than posted no need to try to make him feel stupid about it.

You got to educate these young kids with TC's that all of a sudden think because they have a turbo they can hang with cammed LS's and pullied cobra's. Did you not see the vid posted earlier of what a pretty much stock GTO did to a stock TC in the 1/4? What do you think would happen when you have a higher HP car with a solid axle, lighter weight and wider tires? Not to mention the OP even admits it's hard for him to take off...

Yes, with a peaky high RPM cam and street tires they can easily have trouble with traction above 30 in second gear.

Hopefully the OP doesn't feel stupid, just more educated...

ill tell you one reason why he should feel stupid .... bringing the car up to 160mph. there is no need to go that fast just to prove a point, but hey it's your life ....

If you used no lift shift you might have got him, I saw a basically stock SS/TC waste a c6 Corvette last week so this is easily believeable.

Just to let some of you youngsters know how fast LSX cars are in stock form. When I went to the track a couple weeks ago my friends son brought his 02 Z28 convertible, auto with 50k and stock pretty worn out Goodyears on it,no mods 13.44 @ 103 I think with better tires 13.2 all day.So when I read about all of these LSX kills, either they weren't racing or can't drive or both.

If its Auto and Convertible 02 Z28 and ran a 13.44, there has to be something modded on it. The stock transmissions in the LS1 Z28's and Trans-Ams (Auto) Take forever to shift, and the only place it will run anything close to that is ATCO.

They are fast modded, but a stock auto conv should not be running those times. It more than likely has a flash, and just appears stock, with a shift kit. LSX cars are fast, but thats a stretch.

Car and Driver got a 13.8 out of the 6SP Hardtop

No match for an SS/TC, it needs more cams to keep up.

I have a friend with a head and cam package on his WS6, he has the typical bolt ons and and a tune also. He runs High 11's with 120MPH Traps. I have no doubt that a moddel LS1 will get an SS/TC.
