Had a light with a C5 vette, maroon Z51 with the magnesium wheels. He rolls off on green and nails it. I expected such, and once i finished spinning in 2nd, i was able to reel him in and put a couple cars in between us... I do give the guy credit for actually getting on the gas, most vette owners are too senile to even read the guages... mmm turbo weather is here.

My TC is stock. When it was -27°F here, I was boosting 7 psi at WOT.

hmm C5 vettes run 12.9's... your telling me he got you out of the hole assuming you knew he wanted to go. than after u were done spinning in 2nd you passed him and gained a few cars? dood he wasnt running he was just showing off. and your on all seasons... vid or ban... i mean i can see you beating him on a roll especially if he was auto. my friend ran my boy nicks C5 ALL STOCK on a roll and his ss/tc has the trifecta to0n. he won by half car (cobalt). ran him from a dig and lost by 2. mind you the cobalt runs 13.2's on track. come on dood... old guy did a 1st and half 2nd gear pull. you flew by him still thinking he was going. its ok man

 

I watched a C6 Vette with an old dude driving run consistent 13.2's @ 111 just 2 weeks ago.

 

Sorry most stock ls1's do not run 12.9's vette or not

the 960 pole position have just as much straightline traction, as the crappy contis, the contis just have slightly better turn in. Did i mention that ambient temps were around 50 degrees. Did i say i flew by him? maybe the difference between my car and your friends car is that

A: my drivermod is better: NLS on cue every time when attempted?
B: Cooler denser air?
C: your friend Nicks LS1 vette well tuned

 

I have a 01 vette with magnisum wheels sitting right next to my cobalt in the garage. I can tell you that a tuned SS/TC will take one from a roll..i've never went from a dig but i wouldnt count out the cobalt.
