Unhappy Pulled over at 110+mph...:(

As the title states...that's what happened...kinda...

I was crusing around town looking for some of the other Cobalts when I finally found a friend of mine. He told me about some races going on way out of town and asked me if I wanted to go. Of course I said sure I'd like to go.

Got out there to find no one was there and everyone left so my friend asked me if I still wanted to run. I had my friend in the car and I asked her to step out so I could run. First run was from a dig, (my friend has a Stage 2 SS/SC) and he beat me by about 4 car lengths, I was running a 55 shot of nitrous and if you want to know the rest of the mods look at the signature. Then we wanted to do a 40mph roll, 40mph comes up and boom we're off. Got up to 110+ and shut her down, suprisingly never saw the governor kick in.

We both turned around and down about where my friends was, we saw lights. I knew right away it was Sherriffs. So the other Cobalt and I drive back towards the lights and then he pulled off and turned around for the cops, I went down the road about 1/2 mile and stepped out and turned off the nitrous. After that, drove back to the spot, parked my car and sat there. An officer then came up to me and asked to see the license, not even registration. Stepped out of the car and then he started asking me questions about if I was racing, I stated that I was and then he asked me "so who won?" I said I lost...and he smiled. So he then ran my plates and license and found nothing. It also helped when he stated you should know better than to do this and I said "yeah I know, my mom was a sergent for the dept for 23 years and my dad was in the dept for 19." By this time, there are about 5 Sherriff cars there and then they told the other Cobalt guy to leave and me to do the same. NO WARNING, NO NOTHING!!!

I was amazed and had the biggest adrenaline rush ever, I was shaking for a good 5 hours last night before it finally stopped.

I think I'll stick to just crusing and not running the bottle until out at the track .

That's just my story, please don't flame me, just wanted to tell my tale.

you admitted you fucked up, they didnt actually know for sure what you did, and they let you off. my guess is they will pin you to the wall if they catch you out there again.

True

But the truth set him free. Cops can smell BS, better to be up front about it then try to cover it up.

Don't worry, no way in hell I'm racing again unless it's at the track. I'll cruise, but screw that, no more races for me.

Yes cops can smell BS. When the cop asked him who won, he lost his rights and became guilty, by saying "I lost" the cop smiled because he had his confession...the cop won. Cops rely on the fact people arent prepared for their confrintation, making people stutter, or not stick to your story. If you wana be smart, have the asnwers to his questions before you ever get pulled over...seriously its not about giving into the law, its about being above it.

Well I seriously thought since I was in the f***ing middle of nowhere, no chance of cops. It's not a known place where we were.

He admitted he was racing before he said he lossed.

ya you obviously got some luck. and thats sweet!! Cops will always tell you "let me help you" "tell me the truth no one gets arrested" and so on...its a lie and a way for them to get you to confess and have no fighting jurisdiction in being innocent... cops always wana be your friend when searching for confession.....

Thats BS adam... I remember I got pulled over drivin from UT to CO to see my son, I got pulled over in Wyoming..

Speed limit is 75...ive been driving for many hours..i was ALMOST THERE...so i set the cruise @ 95...

I get pulled over, the cop says "Do you have any idea how fast you were going?" I said "Yes" he said "So you know I got you going 110, right?" I said "Sir, im not even gonna bullshit ya, I had my cruise control set at 95"....

He said it was still early in his shift, so he got me going 99.....if it woulda been 100, i would of spent the night in jail, car impounded..blah blah blah.

Coming back from the track one day when I had the cavalier, I passed someone on a 45mph two way at about 80mph. A couple miles up the road I had gone back to doing the speed limit when a sheriff FLEW up behind me and pulled me over. He told me someone called in what I had done and asked me if it was true. I said "Yes. It was just.... one of those things. Sorry." Then he asked if I had any drugs or weapons in the vehicle, told me to drive safely and sent me on my way. I got lucky!

Definately lucky! But it sounds like you learned your lesson.

I have never found any advantage in lying to cops, and have found that in fact the more truthful you are, the better off you will be at the end of it.
