Pulled on by a VW

Soo just a little while ago on my way home at a stop light was a VW Jetta i think..it was a 4 door w.bbs style rims on it realllll low profile tires and well to say the least it looked fast soo as we leave the stoplight and make the left on to Rt715(long twisty stretch of road) he guns it..i quickly follow after just messin w.him =](im frendly like that lol) so we get caught behind some cars and where going the speed limit and as soon as this one car make a turn we head for this over mile and a half section of road can pass on both sides. well i hear him down shift and he takes off at first i hear his exhaust and all motor..then i guess he hit the gass and i hear a huge whistle of a turbo and he takes off on me kicking gravle up at me. i gun it and hes gaining ground on me moderatly quick(if that makes sense) so finaly after taht i just let off and let him go we get to the stop sign at the end and i honk and he gives me a honk back =] thats pretty much it..lol car was fast never seen a VW that quick.

P.s The car was blue and really dirty but i could make out a red type emblem on the trunk across from the Jetta emblem..any idea what it was?

there are guys on VWVORTEX forum that swap 1.8T and 2.0T's into base and older model V-dubs so you never know.... lot's of VW sleepers out there.... I was playing with what I thought was another MK3 VW GTI until he passed me like I was standing still and I heard the BOV (note: MK3's never came w/ turbos, just 2.0's and VR6's).

yeah if you are stage two and you say it had bbs rims then it was probably a GLI. I'm not sure if a full bolt on GLI could take a stage 2 like you said because on the forums stock turbo GLI's usually only dyno with say 240-250whp and like 280-290wtq. but then ofcourse there are a few guys with BT setups running around with ~350whp

hmm this in....stage II isn't fast. Trust me I know my buddy had a full bolt on K04 swapped chipped etc, and with my 2.9 and stage two he would pull a car from 40. and more from a 60

if he is STOCK and you don't screw up, you should beat him
2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged, 6.1 14.4
2006 Volkswagon GTI 6.3 14.7

could not find a GLI on the site I go to, but it's a little heavier than the GTI (hence slower)

Lol 6K for a turbo upgrade? Its like 1800 for the K04 upgrade and More like 2k-3k for non K04 setups like GT28's-GT30's and they need the rods replaced when doing that upgrade 75% of the time cause VDUBS cant make more then 300whp without popping. In st.louis there are more then a few 400+whp VW's. Not to mention a 10 second Dub and a low 11 second Dub.
