question about cobalt ss/sc

What would win in a race from a dig and also from a 5-10 mph roll. A stage 2 with a 2.8 pulley or a stock 06 mustang gt. The facts

Mustang weighs 3500 lbs puts down around 250 to the ground

cobalt ss weighs 3000 lbs and stage 2 puts down around 220-230. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks, Jared

gt has a lot more torque so it will get up and go a lot faster.

My answer is somewhat biased, but Cobalts have much more potential

look at it like this

mustang, RWD-250 hp-V8

but

weighs a lot for the hp/weight ratio

cobalt, FWD-with stg. 2 u can get up to 240's with a simple intake n pully-suprchrgd-weighs alot less-better hp/weight ratio

but

not V8

so i dont no about racing, but those r sum specs, im sure i forgot sum stuff n others will fill in for me

hope it helps

I would say that it would be a drivers race. But just know that the Cobalt will have to be tuned for the 2.8 and their is some debating about the need to go with higher injectors with the 2.8 on a regular stage 2. When I took my car to the track with the 2.8 I was not able to get down to the 14.1 that I got with the regular 3.0 on. I would say as for a decision it would boil down to gasmilage ,truck space, and back seat space. But with the V8 you have more potential.

I would also say its a drivers race but I raced a 06 Mustang GT stick, the day after I got stage 4 installed. We raced from a dig and a roll. From a dig it was a pretty close launch. I didn't go WOT cause I would have spun pretty bad and still spun a bit. I took him by at least 2-3 cars and maybe went to about 100mph. From a roll it was no contest. We went from 1st gear and I instantly pulled the 2-3 cars again. Ran out of room or probably would have been more. So drivers race but leaning towards the Cobalt with stage 2 and 2.8 and injectors.

your numbers are kinda off, but my cobalt with the stage 2 pulley outruns GT's all day long from a higher roll, traction would hurt it more from a slow roll. however, i outrun ones that are not perfectly driven all day long at the track

^^ voila

so 3500lbs with 250hp vs 3000lbs with 245hp?

dig would make things interesting as always, depending on how long you run it. every second you keep racing the cobalt will pull.

from a roll? forgeddaboudit!
