Raced a modded Acura RSX Type S

In my wifes bone stock 2010 VW Tiguan....

SO I am going to a friends house in my wifes tig, and I get off the on ramp next to a stoplight. A Brown/Bronze looking RSX Type S pulls up next to me.... Its really loud, and has some teenagers in it. I am not thinking about racing because I am in my wifes automatic grocery getter.

The light turns green. So I drive off normally, and these guys next to me start bucking the RSX, like speeding up and slowing down. So I lo'led, and played their lil game and gave it 3 honks. I even waited to hear that full throttle VTAK kick in (:. I had the Tig in S-Mode, I think it means sport, and immediately pulled a car out. By the time I hit 60, I was 2 cars out.

Turned out these guys were all going to the same meeting spot in tucson that night. I pulled up in the grocery getter, and the friends that were riding in the RSX were ridiculing the driver. We had a good talk though, I let them know it was my wifes stock SUV. And if it made them feel any better, it has a DI 2.0 T in it.

I live out in Sahuarita. I will be out at SIR next weekend, firebird is up the road in phoenix. You should get a tune while in town (: Or I can take you for a ride, and make you want to get a tune.

I call BS. Are you sure it was a Type-S? I used to own a modded Type-S and it would rape a stock GTI. (same motor but lighter vehicle) Unless he had a couple of hefty fellas in there and didn't know how to drive for ****. (not in the right gear). That Type-S (if it was one) should have left you seeing tail lights.

I don't know how it would RAPE a GTI. on average the RSX Type S is a 15.0 car, maybe a high 14 on a good day. SO is the GTI.

Here in Az we have this thing called altitude. It makes all NA cars perform, well let just say, not so well. FI Cars are not as phased by altitude.

No need to be a smartass about it. Also, I was comparing a modded (bolt on) RSX-S to a stock GTI. That equals rape. I know because my ex-brother-in-law has a stock GTI and I used to have a bolt on RSX-S. So I know first hand.

The altitude, plus extra weight, plus the variable of we don't know if he can drive well... could happen. I'll give ya that much. Depends on the mods too. If he just had intake and exhaust that's nothing. CAI, Exhaust, Headers, and tune are quite different on those cars.
