Arrow RiCeEaTeR05SS's sunday night of racing.

Well, last night, like every Saturday and Sunday I go out cruising and got quite a bit of racing in.

Friends 06 Tibby SE V6 6spd- an even race in 1st and started to edge out in 2nd and then pulled on him in 3rd, in the 1/4 it was close, after that i kept putting more distance on him.
Apparently it is RWD, which i didnt know they made them RWD? so getting the launch right is very important...

04 SRT-4 - my friend in the TIbby set this one up, apparently this guy has been trying to find me for awhile now.... we went 4 times, the first to times, i got him in the 1/4.. it was VERY close, but once we got to about 100 he was pulling on me, the last 2 he won cuz i either f'd up my linkage or my clutch, not catching 2nd gear all the time, especially when shifting fast/hard

06 Silverado SS AWD vs. 04 SRT-4 - the SRT-4 was totally owned in the 1/4, but once again started pulling on him once they got around 100

06 Silverado SS AWD vs. late 90's Dodge Ram - i think we all know this outcome, though the Ram kept it close, he never got past the truck bed of the SS pick-up

04 SRT-4 vs. 05 SRT-4 - either the 05 driver was just better, or they made changes in the SRT's between these years, because he owned the 04 everytime

My cousin has a Trans-AM club, everything packing an LS1 and running 12's and lower ..... they go to Cecil County Dragway a lot, so next time they go, I'm going w/ them, maybe I'll see some Cobalts there

Nice runs. I love that Silverado SS. The black one would look nice next to my cobalt.

Nice pull on the neon.

I'd love to add one of them Silverado SS's to my kill list. Not many of them around here. Only seen like two and one is an automotive glass company truck.
Never even seen one at the track! Seen some video's of some modded N/A ones running like mid 14's though.

I parked next to a Silverado SS the other day what a beautiful picture it would have been.

1) The Tiburon is ONLY FWD. There is no RWD version.

2) It is a 3000 lb+ car in V6 trim, and makes only 170 HP. Not sure what you drive, but an SS/SC should have wasted it (100lbs lighter, 35 HP advantage), and a 2.4L SS should have beat it easy too because it is like 200 lbs lighter. Maybe the guy was modded though?

I hate Tibs they slow. They take mods very well thought so you might want to watch it.

I am still drooling over that black silverado...

You guys see that new Canyon Xtreme? Pretty good looking truck. Would look awesome with a spring kit. Stock rims on it are frekin sweet!

03's didnt come with a LSD and had smaller injectors, but dynoed around the same as 04-05's. 04-05 SRT's came stock with LSD's and Stage 1 injectors. Thats all. There all about the same, its just some come stock with boost leaks.

Arrow

taking the SRT wasnt easy, it was very close in the 1/4, but once the 1/4 mile is up and you get to 100mph and over, they'll start pulling on yah, benefits of a turbo

i think it might of actually been an 03 then, i know he ran the **** out of it and it sounded bad and was dented up

i'd bet the slower one was an 03 without the lsd from launch, and less hp. If it was an 04 then the 05 was just a far superior driver. I know you guys can relate, high hp fwd cars = a pain to launch well.

Man, I didnt realize the Silverado SS's were that fast...
About the tiburon...those things arent as quick as the SS/SC...at least not stock. Is yours a SC or a 2.4?
If you beat a SRT4 its gotta be a SC. Was the tiburon stock?

Didn't the '03 SRT-4s have 215 HP and something like 230 lb-ft of torque, and those noumbers jumped to 230 and 250 respectively in '04 when some changes were made to the engine (as well as the lsd being added)?

I could be wrong though.
