Its been abnormally nice out lately around here (2 weeks of record highs!), so Ive been driving the redline. Well today on my way to work I was waiting in the turn lane to get on the bridge when a newer WRX hatch pulled up behind me and it looked like a youger guy was driving it. The light turned and there was a slow truck in front of me so the guy in the subie got in the left lane and blew past me and got in front of the truck and slowed down a bit. I caught up to him while cruising in 4th at 65 and got next to him.

I dont think he knew the 3 honk rule because he just took off, so I had to drop to 3rd which took a second because I'm a bit rusty from not driving the car for a while So he got out about 2 cars on me before I got on it and stopped the pull and started to pull back. Wound out 3rd as I passed him and grabbed 4th a bit early around 7k about a car ahead of him and continued to pull until I was about 3-4 cars ahead of him at 120 or so. We both slowed down and he pulled up next to me and gave me a thumbs up so I returned it and he took the next exit.

Only thing I could tell was that it had an exhaust, but it was still a fun run and I was just excited to get some action in January

 

Nice. I find most people around here just give you the look and nod and then take off. No one honks unless it's setup.

Was it a 2011?

Nice run man. I always feel bad for all you northern folk, having to put your cars away and whatnot depending on the winter weather. It's hot as hell down here and stays that way, 70 degrees yesterday

 

Thanks man! I just started school again today as well, but I drove the redline there for the first day of the second semester! I would never have guessed it would be this nice this time of the year.

Thanks! Yeah the winter sucks. We are just lucky it has been nice out this year. Although a few hours ago the temp dropped and it started snowing, but its supposed to be back into the 40s this weekend. Average is 20* or so this time of yeah haha
