s2k loss but closer than expected

welp i was on my way takin my gf home when a red s2k pulled up next to me (completly stock) i could tell that he wanted to run cuz he was reving for the light, but i had my gf with me so i didnt launch but he was keeping pace with me so i mashed at about 4k in 1st and went up to third then backed out right after shifting for third (his front bumper to my rear bumper...i guess i got the jump on him). so i take my gf home and im on my way back to my place, and im thinkin MAN i wish i coulda ran him straight up...and then what ya know he passes me going the opposite direction so i tap my brakes (so they flash) and he stops, we talk a lil and find a place to run, we line up and go, i got a good launch and had 3/4 of my car on him...(his front bumper at my rear quarter) but with that effin 6spd close gear tranny he has he pulled and beat me (my front bumper to his back bumper) we raced to 85mph. sorry for the REALLY long story line

one more thing tho.....and i know its in the wrong place but its my thread...but ive got a custom cold air intake and when i say custom i mean, i cut off the air tanks on my intake and put a cone filter on and removed the stock air box filter (stock tubing with cone filter and removed fog light) but when i shift really fast my intake makes a bov sound...wtf...it does it more when i shift to thrid but sometimes when i shift to 4th too....im not saying i want this to go away cuz its really cool, but what causes this?

edit: i have a ss NON sc

Yeah i thought S2000's were mid-low 14 second cars. But good job either way, i might have to try and race one next time i see it. W/ some mods it should be a good race.

Good race.

And my car makes a sound kind off like this too. It is right as I shift gears at 6900-7k and I am really on it. It doesnt really sound like a BOV but it sounds like air is releasing really fast.

I believe a modded 2.4 could keep with a stock S2k. As with all Hondas... they're lacking in the torque department. I've seen a few in traffic... but none will ever run with me.

But bro, you have the 2.0L - were talking about the 2.4L. Very impressive. BTW - I know about the one you're talking about - gray right? With Konig Unknowns' on it? Apparently that guy can't drive that car from what I've been told

Ang, do u really have to have skill to race on the highway? What does it take to downshift and hit the gas. It wasnt a small gap between us either. We're talkin bus legths.
