SC vs Cayman S
Just an FYI, but stock speedo's are usually overly optimistic when it comes to higher speeds. One of the ragazines did a test of a bunch of 'em awhile back (against the radar) and they were all reading about 10% (or more) high. That's one reason cop cars get specially calibrated units - the stockers just aren't accurate enough.

so my 148 was really about 134? if that's the case I'm not as happy
so peeps reading lets say 155 were really at 140....
5% would have me at like 141... thats more realistic.
I don't think the speedos are really off 10%
I've driven in the 140's before and the run against the Cayman S did feel like somewhere in the 140's
I've heard that also... i did not know they were talk 10% off

That is really ironic cause i TOO ran into a caymen S (yellow) on the highway but buddy and his bluetooth headset did not wanna play....
Kinda ironic i thought... maybe they are ganging up on us...
I saw a Yellow Cayman S on the way to work on Wednesday, but we were in heavy traffic, and it was an older lady driving it.
Been there :-) Good kill!
The Cayman itself is a pig, the S is respectable.
They are just Boxters with hardtops basically.
I look for those because they are relatively easy kills, and you can devalue their midlife crisis in a heartbeat :-)
I agree..........except for the REAL Carrera GT, not the 911 Carrera GT

On the contrary, my friend raced a bone stock 911 Turbo in his STI (but his STI was stock at the time too) from a roll and got owned. Then again, there was 3 of us in his car, plus we were coming back from grocery shopping, so we had a bunch of 12 pack sodas, 2 gallons of milk, and alot of other stuff, so all things considered, it wasn't too "un-respectable".
well, kinda. Caymans do have a bit more power than the Boxter/Boxter S. Kinda besides the point, but the Cayman S was my fave car on NFS: Most Wanted. It was bright ass gold with gold OZ Ultraleggras! If only I had it in real life.......

Of course the 911 Turbo was fast! Deet Dee Dee!
Well yeah, but an STI is no slouch! And not too much slower considering the $50,000 or so price difference. And with the $50,000 saved, one could make an STI a supercar destroyer! DEET DEE DEE that.
Yeah, $50,000 could make a Huffy fast, so let's not argue that stand point.
The Cayman S and the 911 Turbo are vastly different despite similar looks. And from a roll the Sti lost the only "advantage" it had over the Turbo. I'm sure it was a fun race none the less, which was the point of racing. I personally love the Sti's, and the way they drive.
They are more like $90,000 apart in base price.
911 Turbo 0-60 in 3.1-3.4sec........insane!
most peeps w/ the high ends toys don't like to play....they do pose well thou
LOL.........NOT!!!!!!
Yes, a 911 Turbo is much faster than a Cayman S. But a Cayman S is still pretty damn quick. But in all reality, its not very quick for the price you pay. But like BlurpleSS said, your not paying all that money just for performance. Your paying that money for the status, luxuries.......and of course.......***** perks a Porsche gets you.
Sure you do! I got all the status I need in my Cobalt...........

Like Chapelle said, If you could get ***** livin' in a carboard box, we wouldn't need nice houses. And a porsche is just bait. When she say's "oh! Nice Porsche"
