Hey *******, read the post before you make childish assumptions. I said that I would rather use the extra money saved from the car payment to help pay off loans quicker. Meaning I'd still have extra on that car payment.... I just rather would use the cash to pay of loans FASTER than I would have before.

And you know what I meant about a signature away... don't be a smart ass.

Haha... didn't see it yet, but I want to.

I'm up for going out somewhere tonight. I haven't heard from BJ in a few weeks. I think we should make it a Greensburg/Pep Boys night.

First off...never said anything derrogatory to you or about you...so I will take your buddies advice if you want to be an ass and start out in the childish language you would use..."yo dumbfuck"...kinda funny I probably have someone who isn't 25 calling me childish but whatever...What part of...if you buy a car and settle for one that is not the top model so you can have EXTRA money...don't you understand..not a hard concept...if you have to buy a cheaper car so you can have EXTRA money...then IT IS a money issue obviously, as you didn't buy the car for four doors but, because you said you wanted the extra MONEY. If you would have said...yeah I just wanted four doors and I am saving money..thats different. But you said you bought a NA so you could have extra money...hmmm...maybe you should reread what you wrote.

So...What exactly am I? You called me both...a ******* and a smartass, make up your mind

You plainly said it was an issue with not being able to afford the more expensive car (mind you we are talking about a $35,000 GTO vs. the 2.4L Cobalt now). I take that as a very demeaning post towards someone (assuming they cannot afford a car so that's why they bought a lesser vehicle).

Firstly, I said you made a childish assumption. Secondly, I don't care if you're 18, 25, or 45... an ignorant assumption is an ignorant assumption no matter what your age is.

What part of MORE extra money do you not understand??? Seriously, are you reading-impaired? It's not a matter of having extra money or not... it's a matter of having MORE extra money to help pay off loans QUICKER. It's a matter of deciding that I'd rather pay off my loans faster by buying a cheaper car. Get that? Let me diagram it for you like they did back in elementary school:

Situation 1:
Buy $35,000 GTO
Spend $500 on car payment
Spend $200 on school loan payments (minimum payment due: $175)

Situation 2:
Buy $19,000 Cobalt
Spend $300 on car payment
Spend $400 on school loan payments (minimum payment due: $175)

Understand me now? And no, that does not account for all of my monthly income. That's just the balance between those two payments.

Judging by your past posts (like the one where you claimed a turbo compressed and sent exhaust gasses back into the intake) I'd say you're more of a ******* than a smartass.

Dan, Dave, and I will be out and about in GBG. I think we're gonna go to BWW by the mall for beer after Dave gets off work (around 9pm).

If you are around on the 30th and if I can get off work, we're planning on going to Sing Sing in Homestead. Its a kickass dueling piano bar that serves microbrewed beer from the place next door.

Beer FTW.

By the way, found two more HY35s in decent condition for $300 a piece (sold separately). George.... I hear one calling your name.

Ok OK I wrote this big long speal and then realized neither of us are on the same page here. I am talking about why you just didnt spend the extra 2K and buy a SS/SC over the NA?? Was it because you wanted four doors or 40 dollars EXTRA a month.

Understand me now? And no, that does not account for all of my monthly income. That's just the balance between those two payments.
yeah yeah I got that...never said you were broke...just trying to figure out why you would get the NA over the SC...I thought your reasoning was because of money...I was like WTF?? 2K is nothing over 5 or 6 years. Nothing wrong with the four door SS, just wondering why you bought it...after rereading all your post I see that you thought I was calling you a cheap bastard for not getting the GTO over the SS/NA which is not the case.

I was calling you a cheap bastard for not spending 2K more and going top of the line

Touchy little bastard aren't you

We weren't on the same page. That's exactly what I thought you were saying.

To be honest, when I decided to get the Cobalt over the GTO, I never considered the SS/SC. I figured, "Hey, here's a cheaper, more economic car that's decent for a year round commute to work" (compared to the goat). I bought the SS simply cause it had all of the options I was looking for already included. I didn't buy my Cobalt as a performance vehicle. That's why I never considered the SS/SC. I didn't even know there was a tuning community for these cars.

Then I met the crazy group of people I hang out with now. Months later, here I am putting a turbo on my "economic" choice.

-Less on insurance payments
-availability of automatic tranny
-availability of four door
-hated the high profile spoiler (I don't, I love it..but some people despise the thing)
-saw the future potential of the 2.4l (which, I might add, some people have said that Hahn IS working on a turbocharger for the 2.4l engine that will put 263 HP on the WHEELS. Don't quote me, I'm just repeating what I've read)
-Decided to use the extra money for something else. Like added warranty coverage through GM.

I agree with a previous statement that some of the SS/SC owners are over protective of their SS titles and the performance of their cars. And they get obnoxious about it. Some of this may be attributable to younger drivers having the cars bought FOR them. Some of it may be people who work well paying jobs and 21k is a drop in the bucket for them.
Thankfully There are a lot more SS/SC owners that don't have their head up their ass about their cars.
Lots of people have said it before. If you have so much money to blow and you wanted a really fast car. You would've bought a Stang GT or a 350Z or something. There are MUCH better racing cars to be had out there.

You are correct. Not everyone wants the SS/SC. There are way too many SS/SC owners on this forum that act like they have the fastest car on the streets. One reason that I didn't go with the SS/SC over the SS/NA is because I personally didn't think it was worth the extra money for the SC.

I'm sure to get hell for this question but why take a ss/na and make it look like a ss/sc? what just to get owned by a real ss/sc? Why waste the time if youre gonna make a ss/na look like a ss/sc why not just get the ss/sc the payments arent that much more if your just tryin to save money. Youre just gonna have more bullshit defending that SS badge with the sc body kit just a thought

alright let me get something straight for all of you idiots. it isn't just the 2.0 owners that have the god mentallity. it is the 2.2 owners, the 2.4 owners, the 2.0 owners and EVERY performance minded car owner on the planet. If you buy a car and you love it, you WILL defend it, whether you do it like an ass (like some on this forum) or like a calm, mature person like many others on this forum. Stop grouping the asses into 2.0 owners or 2.4 owners, there are 2.2 owners claiming they can easily take MUCH faster cars, 2.4 owners making up bs stories, and 2.0 owners doing all the same ****. GET OVER IT. THIS IS A CAR FORUM, IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. hell, i do it to. i yelled at people for it, then i realized, WE ALL DO IT.

That doesn't even deserve a response. You better rethink your statements if you ever want to join up with the Pittsburgh crew.

you're right, they did come out to play...i found one right here^^ nice way to be stereotypical. btw...the arguments were over by the time you posted this so all you successfully did was stir an old dying pot. congrats.

heres an idea. it is there car, allow them to do what they want to their car. if they want it to look like an ss/sc then let them. if they want to paint it nickolodean green with a triple decker spoiler and turbo emblems...guess what? theres nothing you can do about it because it is their car and they have the right to do what they want to it cause guess who is paying for it...they are.

ohh yeah...NOT EVERYBODY WNATS AN SS/SC. stop assuming you are the best and everybody is jealous of your ss/sc

#1 the truth is out there. what more can you say. It is not as the story is presented.

#2 Love the pics. That is what kept me going throughout this thread. Thankyou for the entertainment Guys And Girls.

#3 I have no comment for the originator of this thread. But where and when do you want to meet so you can beat my SS/SC. I want to see it......

I didn't buy my Cobalt as a performance vehicle.
Gotcha man, I just figured you were looking for performance after looking at the GTO, my bad. I do like the SS/NA's though, nothing wrong with them at all. Honestly...and I don't mean this smart ass... I swear, but if I had a kid...I would LOVE an NA for the four doors and sportiness. I would HATE to try and pull my youngins' out of two doors, not to mention the rear wing is something I wouldn't want with kids. (safety first)

Rationality at last......there's more than one reason to buy 4 doors (some performance is good). If the SS/SC came with 4 doors I would have bought it. My kid hardly ever rides in my car though..
