score one for the ss/na's bitches!
from what i see the post was in fact not dying.......sorry for the rant if thats what you want...it just gets old after a while to see everyone looking down on each other....damn were a car family so act like it...or im gonna go buy a honda...
heres an idea. it is there car, allow them to do what they want to their car. if they want it to look like an ss/sc then let them. if they want to paint it nickolodean green with a triple decker spoiler and turbo emblems...guess what? theres nothing you can do about it because it is their car and they have the right to do what they want to it cause guess who is paying for it...they are.
ohh yeah...NOT EVERYBODY WNATS AN SS/SC. stop assuming you are the best and everybody is jealous of your ss/sc
Seems like most of the SS/SC guys on here seem to forget that their cars are still economy cars. Not some high performance exotic car!
As far as "high performance"...YES the SS/SC is a high performance vehicle. If you don't believe it is then you should do some reading. Any car with more horsepower per liter than the new Z06...is high performance. Just because the base models are eco cars doesn't mean they can't have a "high performance" model...which is exactly what the SS/SC is...High performance.
No one here doubt's a N/A is capable of pulling on a SC if the SC is stock and the NA is heavily modded, but to come on with the mods the guy has and claim to beat a SC is kinda weak. That would be like a C6 with a CAI claiming to beat a c6 Z06 and then everyone getting pissed because the Z06 guys call BS or could be a "bad driver". No one is going to tell the C6 driver "good job" for beating a Z06 as it was obvious something is fishy. I say good job to the NA...no problem there...but either the guy wasn't racing or he had a SC look alike.
And if you want to group me in the "SC class" thats fine by me.
Just because a car is grouped into the economy class: aka good gas milage...doesn't mean it can't be fast or "high performance". Exotic...nope...no one claimed it was. If this isn't what you were saying then why compare a cobalt to an exotic. A corvette isn't economy class, but it is no exotic either.

I was kinda using Exotic as a metaphor and didn't think you would take it litterally. It just seems that a lot of the SS/SC owners on this forum seem to think that they have the fastest cars on the street. If you know where I'm coming from with this topic without flaming me for it again. In all reality, it seems like the 2.2 is in all reality the best motor out of the three choices that there are for the Cobalt according to all the information that's out there for them. Look at the newest issue of HCI. There is a Cobalt 2.2 in there pushing 1000hp still FWD built by Whitfield. I know it's not NA either, it does have a turbo on it. After all, this is a car forum for all the Cobalt models and it seems like most of the threads are arguments about who has the better car. Can't we just compliment each other on the mods we do to our cars if any and just all get along??

The 2.0 motor IS the 2.2 Motor..just a smaller stroke
ok you know i have a 2.4. I'd love to see a 2.4 beat a 2.0. but i mean dont make up some bullshit saying you beat a 2.0. than later in the thread you say you dont know whether it was a SS/SC or not.
If I may say..
I never raced an S/C but I sure gave one a run for the money and had the kid wonder wtf I had under the hood cause he wasn't losing me big time!! My fun started when I was rolling through downtown Red Deer when I spyed a new black S/C heading north.. I caught up to him and moved in front of him and by the way he looked at me I knew we would go for it.
Soo even though I was in front we both gunned it and lets just say he sure never passed me.. We pull into a Walmart parking lot and he wonders what I did to my SSn/a.. Nothing except a K&N replacement filter and no muffler mod. He told me he was quite impressed with my cars power and capability cause he gave his car gas!! Soo all you S/C owners please don't doubt the capability of the N/A Cobalts
I have no idea where I'm going with this but just wanted to tell my little story.. Can't wait for summer

Well may be and that's exactly my point about the original story; the guy beat a SS/SC why would he lie...and may be he did cause the SS/SC driver sucked but also the SS/SC driver might have :
1. Left it in 5th
2. Forgot to downshift
3. Didn't know he should downshift
4. Down shifted to reverse
5. Was eating a taco
6. Installed Bosch +4s and then simlutaneous snapped
7. It was a diesel swapped Cobalt
8. He was twin charged and spinning his tires
There's many reasons to lose besides callin BS on the original poster!
