SL55 vs SS/TC..
Now THIS is classic! Guy is bragging about his *KILL* of a SS/TC...
but you gotta see what he was driving (and his *other cars*).
(Note what other posters say about the *new* Cobalt)
SL55 v turbo, winged Cobalt! - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum
and this...CLASSIC!!!!
" It was quick..... but just not quick enough. And at the end of the day he has a Cobalt that cost as much as Porsche.... but to each his own.
figures..here are his *other* cars:
Cars: M3, M5, Ferrari F40, Ferrari 348, Ferrari TR, SL55
Now look what he was driving at the time!:
My SL55 has our ECU/pulley/TCU package. It dynos at 585hp/620 lb ft tq.

The best quote from any of the postings...
"Mod'ing cars is rarely ever financially prudent but hobbies rarely ever are. If money was all we cared about our hobby would be discussing the next big IPO and how we were gonna get as many shares as possible"
These guys have alot of money. Who ever raced that modded SL55 was fighting a losing battle. But hey why not, we aren't expected to win but its fun to find out for sure. I'm not gonna talk **** about them cuz if I had the money I wouldn't be on this forum, more like a ferrari or porsche one, but they really have no idea about these cars or what they can be capable of in the right hands.

Well if you read that whole thread. Yea I would say they at least say the cobalt isn't a slouch for the price and class that its in. Cobalt < SL55 everyday of the week LOL
If I EVER put 30k in a cobalt i'd shoot myself.

3. its a cavalier.. ok. lol
4. pooor quality.. i can somewhat agree
thats the main things i hear.

I murdered a stock '10 or so SLK55 AMG. They're actually quite slow for automatics. 0-60 in 4.9 sec. I really expected more, must be mostly in their launch. I was stock at the time. Rode his ass til 140 (about a car length) then flew by him because he did a fly by me at over 100 right after I got on the interstate. Who does that to a car that costs 1/5th of the car you're driving? SL55 AMG is almost half a second quicker in 0-60 none the less. But that guy driving the SL55 needs to update his checkbook. Drop that much in a Cobalt and you'll be rolling the tires past him at 200mph while he then watches you release your drag parachute.
