I was heading home today and as I cam to a country road I take home everyday I see a silver Tundra 5.7 with loud exhaust. He pulls a right turn and floors it and spins his tires and I turn left about 300 ft behind him and I give it half throttle or and I catch up to him. He kept speeding up and slowing down which really irritated me so after following him for a mile or two I decide to pass him. I know the guy is going to go, so I rev match and downshift to third and I feed it down to the floor and from 60-112 or so I put several buslengths on him. Dude was probably like WTF was the silver thing. I passed him so fast I doubt he could even read my ss badges.
Nice,I HATE people who can't go a steady speed, bet he didn't expect all that.I will say for a truck thats not meant to be fast[like a lightning,srt10,etc],they go pretty damn good.Toyota should put the 5.7 in a smallish rwd car.
Besides the SRT-10 Ram, it is the fastest N/A truck around these days. The 5.7 is a DOHC v8 that puts out 375hp and 400tq. I believe they are mid 14 second trucks in the 1/4 mile, and I'm sure they respond really well to mods.
iv found those tundras take to long to shift when u manual shift them, there is to much time between u doing the shift and it actually shifting.
Exactly!! The one I've seen run was a 4dr extended cab 4x4 and it ran like a 14.6-14.7. So I'm sure the regular cab non 4x4's are a couple tenths faster. Very nice truck, but they are kinda expensive, well they were when they first came out.

well the new 5.7l ram is around 390 hp and the chevy is at even more. The deisel's put down way more impressive numbers from the rams/350's/duramaxs. They can become beast, but also cost 50,000 +++ brand new. I was cruising by the ford dealership today. One ford f350 with like a 9 inch lift, was 92,000 HOLY ****. it was huge though.
Leave it in gear and just go, the computer can shift faster than you can when you try shifting it yourself.
