That's because most of those cars back then were equipped by Ford with 3.08's (one even had 2.73's!).

What I noticed really made a difference was when I installed an Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold, Headers, and Exhaust.

Seat of the pants was QUITE noticeable.

On principle, that combo should work for ANY car ...
fox bodies 5-speed came with 2.73s ... 3.08s were standard Auto gears on fox up

Sounds like a modified turbo against a stock N/A. Its just like those races where you see twin turbo Corvettes destroying Murcielagos. Always a bit of a slant to those kinds.

4.10 gears and his mods makes that Mustang a solid 12 second car. If your not running low 12's yourself then its simple math. No surprise either.

If that Mustang GT is a SOLID 12 second car then I'm Chuck Norris.

I just cannot believe it in my experience with mustangs which are not that fast to begin with.. With Gears, Catback and a Intake will run 12's in the 1/4 miles.. MAYBE MAYBE with the stall ..IF he is running some sort of tires in the back.. Maybe...

I just don't see it.. My .02

a new edge with those mods is not a solid 12 sec car....an s197 with those would easily be 12's if he was tuned, but a new edge is quite a bit behind.

a auto 03 mustang with those mods, is not a 12 sec car. No where near it. I've worked on some mustangs, and you need a lot more than that to break into the 12s.

Also, go from a 40 mph roll. you will be better fit in your power band. Do not, repeat, do not go from a dig. Not against a auto with gears and a stall.

With just 4.10s and shitty stock tires on my 04 auto I ran 14.0@100 mph. Depending on stall that car is mid-low 13sec car. Most guys run 3200-3600 stall and that is good for .5+ in the 1/4 mile.

Also from a 25mph roll the stall will still flash which will make the car take off much harder than say 30-40mph.

A buddy of mine had a stock GT with a 4200stall on it and with just that and a set of MT DRs. He ran 12.9X@103mph. He ended up breaking his rearend like 2 weeks later. LOL

You guys are crazy...a 5 speed stang with same mods and a bomb ass driver wouldnt touch 12's. 13.5 maybe. Just my experience with stangs in vegas....Autos are pigs.

a stalled/tuned auto will out run a stick in the quarter every time. your infinite knowledge has failed you.

HAHA Thats why anyone that has an all out drag car or just wants to run faster times at the track switches to an auto. A guy at the tracks just switched to an auto in his Cobra and went from a 11.15 to a 10.85. Go for a ride in a stalled auto and then come back and talk to me. Since I did my stall I can lay rubber for as long as you want with my MTs on.

Plus the elevation in LV is 5000-6000ft thats gonna hurt anyones times.

My LT1 Camaro was stalled.. I had a 3800 stall, built tranny with shift kit, bla bla; 373's, tuned, headers, y pipe, catback, intake, a few port/polish jobs. THAT was a 12 second car..

That mustang is not.

That car isn't a 12 second car. Perhaps if it had cams and suspension work but most full bolt on new edge GT with 4.10's and DR's are good for a low 13.
