Spirit R/T Vs Cobalt SS

Last night, I had a couple of highway runs with a supercharged Cobalt SS. The first race I beat him pretty good, but he later said that he was in 3rd gear instead of 2nd. In the 2nd race, we were pretty well even from about 50 to 100mph... he was pulling ever so slightly... I had to lift because I had a massive coolant leak and smoke was pouring out everywhere.

Anyway, we get back to the little street racing scene in the parking lot and he said it was stock except for a pulley. My question is: What does a Cobalt SS with just a pulley trap at? I just picked up my Spirit R/T for $1,000 and it seems to be running pretty well, but I am not sure what I am trapping at. Oh BTW, it's stock except for a cat delete. Thanx.

You have a rare car, good kill.

I would assume high 90's with a 3" pulley.

Interesting... I was just looking on Car & Driver's website and they are claiming 100mph trap speeds stock?

Sounds like some good races

The Cobalt SS S/C traps at about 98MPH stock, so with a pully I'd assume it would be trapping at slightly over 100MPH.

The Spirit R/T seems to be a pretty impressive car, even more so if you consider when it was released.

Heh, that's like our cars...just 15 years older, made by chrysler and ugly. Good specs though, very impressive for a relic.

Hell yeah NICE kill especially for an old car that you paid $1000 for
Those old turbo Mopars are what got me started into sleepers in the first place!
