SS S/C vs. GTO
Ya so i guess your proud of your 400hp boat, **** LS1 Z'S AND T/A'S make a joke of ls2 goats, my frieds stage 2 srt-4 beat a headers/exhaust LS2 by 3 cars..........be proud, and my redline made a joke of an LS1 goat at the track, hmmmm i love seeing them run mid 14's all night long. And you did not trap 110 stock in your GTO, i would love to see proof of those times.

Its funny how when they ask you for proof, you show them, and then they don't post anymore.
As I stated to the OP, sounds like a good run against a stronger car. Anything can happen on the street.
To the owner of the Saturn, I used to own a Redline (probably before you even knew they existed) I know a few guys with superchargers bolted on to their "boat" that would probably make you look like you drive a Quad Coupe. You're coming across as a tool. ANYONE can dump money into a car and make it faster. Sure the guys with the Supercharged GTOs may be faster than a STOCK Corvette or a STOCK Porsche, but you'll never see them talking out their ass disrespectfully. Educate yourself before you show your ass.....Just some advice.

But hey if you don't believe me, go race a guy who actually knows what he's doing and find out for yourself. As soon as you trade in your 2.2 Cobalt and find out how fast the SS's really are, rather than what you see and read on the internet and in magazines.

edit: I just called my buddy with a s2 Cobalt SS/SC. He will not even race me for the sake of footage, he says and I quote him "I will get my doors blown off dude, why would you even ask me to race you know better than that"
Bottom line is for a SS/SC to even keep up with a well driven GTO it will need at least a stage whatever pcm, injectors, smaller pulley, much supporting mods, and bolt ons. I understand that anything can happen on the street, and on the track alot of newb drivers make GTO's look like ass. However, don't try to sell other cars short. A Cobalt is a 100mph trapper on its BEST day. GTO's trap 107-109 on average. Not to mention a Cobalt is a ~14.2 car on its BEST day, and GTO will average 13.1-13.3's. Basically what you're trying to compare is a car that runs a full second faster in the quarter and traps about 10mph higher.

hey those pics are old. there are no GMPP performance parts stickers anymore FYI. and 2nd off, i may have a slow LS but doesnt mean i dont know about cars man.

and FYI the cobalts just my car. my rents got a 2002 trans am and my dads also got a 1977 trans am 6.6 big block so i think i know a thing or 2 about V8's as well as other car facts.

the grand prix was a big car and the GTO was just as big but had more power. hence grand prix on steriods.
if anything the front end of a bonnievill and the grand prix resembles the GTO

Just for reference though, a GTO has about 9 pounds for every 1 horsepower. While a SS/SC has about 12-13 pounds for every 1 horsepower.
w/e tho gto is a fast car and i respect it i also think its a nice looking car too and im not a big fan of pontiac.. ive raced one before and he had about 2 cars on me .. but im proud of what my 4 cylynder car can do
Stock for stock a Cobalt SS/SC will NOT keep up or beat a GTO (LS1 OR LS2) with EQUAL drivers. The OP's story sounds plausible, however and the first video I saw seems questionable to me only because the GTO racing didn't even sound like it was WOT.
Anything can be made fast so why even argue about stock vs modded? You could have the quickest car in the world and I guarantee you that in a few months something will come along that's quicker. The Cobalt SS/SC is a respectable car but its hard to respect the owner of a car that thinks their car is the world beater to beat all makes and models. If you owned a McLaren or a Ferrari then your cockiness may be warranted, but owning a Cavalier errr I mean Cobalt, come on now.....

i raced a gto 6.0litre tonite from a dig and a roll....from a dig i lost by 2-3 cars the first time then the second time was 4cars and then from a roll at 40 they got me by 1 car and then after 110 they walked me and i let off......and my mods are in my sig
Let me say...the SS/SC Stage 2 could take an 04 GTO but not the 05+. The 05 GTO with the 400 V8 is as fast as my C5 Vette. I'm tellin' you there is no WAY the Balt can compete...I OWN both cars, I should know.
