SS/SC GM Stage 2 ONLY vs 2008 SS/TC
SS/SC GM Stage 2 ONLY vs 2008 SS/TC
I just had my first encounter with an LNF Cobalt rolling out of my best friends house. I took a left turn and notice a cobalt riding my bumper. I pull over and it's a TC! I ask him if he wanted to run and he said yeah so we headed to the highway.
We ran about ten times or so from various speeds.
Most of our hits were at 40-45 MPH. I'd get nice instant throttle response that grabbed me about a fender every time. I'd hold it and gradually pull a HAIR more... literally inches.
Same result time and time again.
40 Roll= Dead even, fender jump to SC Stage 2.
We did a hit at 60 MPH and HE ANNIHILATED me. Both in third gear I assume. He yanked two carlengths INSTANTLY and I couldn't pull it back. Hung two carlengths ahead all the way.
60 Roll= TC ANNIHILATES. SWEET spot for the TC 3rd gear.
We also did a top end run from 80 MPH in third gear. I yanked a few inches ahead and afterwards he pulled slightly right around my 6500 RPM range. I shifted into fourth and we had to shut down. He seemed to start to edge me out up top.
80 Roll= Slight jump for SC Stage 2, TC seemed to pull a little bit harder towards the top end.
Afterwards we pulled over and exchanged numbers. Exciting stuff..
The ONLY modifications to my car are Eibach Sportlines and GM Stage 2. No intake, no exhaust. Nada, just the Stage kit.
All in all I was impressed. I can imagine these things are beastly once tuned.

There is one in town that I've been hunting, cocky bastard...
...and you are too far away. Unless you wanna make the trip.
There is a big meet here on Saturday. Lots of cars for us to beat up on. I'll make it worth the trip.

Nice runs.
Should have done the the 60 roll in 2nd gear. Stage 2 cars can do 75mph in 2nd gear.
You have to use your rpm & gearing advantage, otherwise the LNF torque will be impossible to beat.

You'd pull a bone stock TC, I'm sure of it.
As for using my gearing advantage, I'm aware that I'd have faired a bit better if I hit in 2nd gear but honestly he still would have pulled me. I didn't want to go through the trouble, I don't prefer to rev that high for any length of time or to have to shift that quickly... I'll do another 60 in 2nd.

75??? i hve never once got my stage 2 over 65, except fro when i push in the clutch to shift and it coasts up on the speedo a little... but nowhere near 75
2nd gear after stage two is certainly capable of more than 65 mph.
nice, it takes a somehwat to heavily modded ss/sc to beat a stock ss/tc

about time.
now its settled.
no more arguments about how stage 2 and stock ss/tc will do
proof is here. it takes a stage 2 to keep up with or barely beat a ss/tc
any questions? comments? complaints?
dial 1 to complain, 2 for comments, 3 for questions, and 4 for stupid noobs who will argue
And just because the dealership INSTALLED your Stg2... doesn't mean that they Flashed the tune onto it. I have heard many many many stories of Dealerships forgetting to flash the tune onto the car.
If your car doesn't rev to 7k... then you got jipped.
