SS/SC vs. Duramax

I went with my friend grocery shopping since my moms kinda crippled right now and cant walk. On the way home this Silverado is riding my ass and flipping me off. He motions me onto this back road and flys past me, so i catch up and we pull over. Here its an old friend who wants to race. i thought it would be a lot tougher then it was, we raced from a dig, and he jumped first, and i still pulled him no problem. I know they weigh a lot but i thought it would be a lot closer then it was. It was a silverado 2500 duramax diesel. Were gonna run again before winter, and he wants to run me in spring after i get my TVS and meth put on.

all it takes is a simple tune and you're looking at 600wtq and 400whp. put some bigger fuel injectors, CAI, exh on there and it just goes up. God help you if he has a bigger turbo, propane and/or nitrous injection.

i believe trucks! did this on a show a few years ago... flat-lined the dyno at 1500wtq, and it was probably much higher than that, as the dyno couldn't read that high

Duramax diesels aren't turbo'd from the factory.

On a side note theres a cool guy that goes to the local track here with a Cummins turbo diesel running 700whp and ????tq. He runs consistent 12.0 second passes on street tires.

My Uncle has a 2006ish silverado 2500 w/duramax and allison tranny and that thing pulls pretty good. Those things are like a big version of the LNF. A simple tune will make like 40%+ more power and a turbo swap like 60%+.

I ran a Cummings Ram when I was stock and Ill be damned if he didnt almost beat me. You never know with those things. It could be making 300hp/550tq or 450hp/800tq and beyond and with these BullyDog tuners they can switch on the fly

Go to the drag strip and watch a 1 ton truck beat Camaros, Mustangs, and the occasional Vette. Its pretty entertaining as long as you aren't the one getting smoked.

Yeah maybe as a stock v6 with a bad driver. Low 15s are amazing for a stock Duramax. Most run high 15s.
