So i was cruising around some country roads with the gf looking for a place to take some pics of the car, when i notice this hhr just staying about 5ft away from my bumber, so we cruise about 2 miles going about 85 everytime i just keep walking away from him . I took a look at my gf and said "this guy is right on my ass". So we get to a 4 way stop, i stop and toss her in first gear, then we hear the hhr behind me squeel his tires , i was like **** this guy really wants to race. i toss it in second and keep it there all of a sudden he busts in the other lane to pass me and i floor it in 2nd and then 3rd , he stayed in the other lane trying but he couldnt pass me for the life of him.i just kept pulling on him like no tomorow. It was funny cuz the gf is like " is he trying to pass you" im like "yeah but he can't " so after about 15-20 secs he gives up and gets behind me. as we slow down i see him toss me the peace sign which was cool. We pulled up to another stop sign and talk for a quick minute, says he has a fully built talon tsi that would smoke my car. also says his "high output hhr" was fast. I just let him talk then we went our seperate ways.

all in all i think it was pretty fun and sweet to know that even with him flooring it for a good 500ft before i even started trying that i just walked away from him



like i said before no traffic and country roads. and after that i got some sweet pics of the car at a local airport.

 

the first car i ever raced was an hhr, we went from a red light, at first i was not sure if he wanted to race me, he launched like crazy so i lauched not really hard a little bit late right after him, in second gear i took the time release the gaz paddle a little so i was not accelerating more than him....and i gave him the "your going down" look and punched the gaz again.....i had buses on him at about 100 mph....lol...that was funny., i spoke with him after that, he was allright, he knew he had no chance....his car was looking really good tho, nice wheel with a nice drop, car was black with dark black tints...



actually i went for a test drive last monday, an 2008 hhr ss turbo, i was not really impressed on the performance, i was expecting too much from the LNF i guess but its not that special, i hope the new lnf cobalt will be more powerfull than that......i think my ss/sc feels more powerfull, i dont know. enyway, overall, if you need a 4 door soccer mom grocerie getter! the hhr ss is really nice !

 

isnt it crazy how people always think of there car being fast even tho you smoked them! at least he wasnt like a honda guy and just ricer pass you flipping you off. i wonder if his tsi is just as fast as his hhr?

 

yeah it was crazy- for a minute i was nervous but all was cool when he tossed me the peace sign, i havent ever really raced or played around with someone i dont kno, usually buddys etc lol

i told my gf that he probably doesnt even have a tsi lol

 

I ran a HHR LT in bracket racing last year. He had over 1.5 second head start and I still beat him. Found out later that the guy driving it is the public relations director for the track. Now he has a new Impala SS. Can't wait to run him in that.
