I would never have imagined my t/c would have pulled my camaro stock for stock.
Just wouldnt have happened.
Thats why some people doubt it. I have both and I just dont see it.

Bingo! That was the reference I was making that weight affects a torqueless motor much more then it affects a torquey motor. Did I spell those two torque words correctly?

Umm, you said he had FOUR passengers in his car, considering they only seat four with the driver I will consider you meaning he had three passengers. Add that to a feather weight of a guy at 150 being nice (that is a pretty petite dude) times 3 is 450 with driver.

You on the other hand just said you had you and your GF plus a speaker box and his largest passenger. 250+50+ (I will be nice and say your gf is skinny) 100+you (150?). Lets say 550 with driver.

You don't have the power to pull a full bolt on LS1 just you two alone, let alone with you and all the passengers and your car with more weight added then his. You had to spray or something isn't adding up. Plus all the way to 120 through his strongest gear (third) and past to where they really shine (above a 100).

Take two cars that run side by side in a race, one is a four cylinder small displacement with less weight and torque obviously, against a bigger car with a much larger motor and torque. Add 300 lbs to each, which one will it affect more? The one that the weight that added a larger percentage to the car. Then not only will the lb per hp be changed, but the torque is what makes that weight less of an affect in car B. That is what I am trying to point out.

Does this make sense?

For you calling those motors torquey; compared to other four cylinders yeah!

I cant see the SS/SC beating a modded LS1 F-body from a roll to the speeds you guys raced too. Weight in both cars, advantage LS1, weight in no cars, equals out the race. Nice kill either way.

Wait.... At what point in your life did your pappy teach you to type?

Because at the moment reading comprehension>>>>>you.

On topic, I can see the win for the Cobalt from the roll. We all know LS1s pull hard up top. But anything can happen on the street. Judging from the story it wasn't a huge win, and the race ended at a fairly low speed, IMO (**** off flamers).

The guy in the Ws6 could have been a shitty driver or spun etc.. who knows. Or it could have been a completely legit run and RedEcotecSS has a quick car and his tune really is excellent.
Some of you people are hardheaded.

you are very quick to judge someone's car without knowing all of the facts. In comparison you are right, MOST of the cars on this site are torqueless 4 cyl when compared to a Fbody V8s. In the case of this scenario though with RedEcotec's car, his is not MOST cards, it is not torqueless and I know for a fact that he was not spraying nitrous. If he was, he would not have a running car right now. The tune that is in the car is not a nitrous tune, nor does he have nitrous even in his car when I saw it the previous weekend.

One of his mods listed (NOS Sniper Nitrous Kit. NOS Purge Valve Kit) FACT, and being he doesn't have the power with just the blower and his mods to pull a full bolt on WS6 is why I bet he sprayed with the added weight in the car.

Also, yes, I was talking about the torque compared to a V8. Sure he may be torquey for a 4 cylinder, but that in now way compares to a push rod V8, or many other V8's at that. No matter what you do hitting the gas on any 4 cylinder at 2000k rpms will not give the same push as hitting the gas of a push rod motor at 2k rpms, that my friend is torque. So we can put his car in the same catagory as all the others when racing a pushrod motor in terms of torque, which is what this discussion is now about.

Why have a nitrous kit and not be able to use it, just to list it in the mods?

I judged because I read his mod list that he told everyone to read. The only variable is the tune then...
