turbo swapp... else you're fucked... When I was younger I wanted to get a del sol and build it because those ******* can be made quick.. it's a crx... and it's light as hell... so even with just the engine swap and minor work it would be close.. with a turbo, even if he has 200 WHP you're toast.. that car is probably about 500 Lbs lighter then the balt... and every 100lbs makes .1 in the quarter... so he could run 170whp and still probably run with you stock...

You will prolly loose, dont race him. People like that are just ********. I had a guy like that with an IS350, I ended up making him looking like an ass in front of everyone. I don't ever race people like that.

Wow.. I'd never expect that. What's my car, (99si) compare to the del sols? I don't mind them. Done a ton of research on them but never really compared them with my car. Also, I don't see how a 170whp honda can beat a ss. Hell, I'm pushin 170 and I would never even trackrace a balt lt. I know balts can be fast cars even stock. Bg's getting the stage 2 in his balt tomorrow, if I got a turbo later or a sc from jackson, I would think I'd still get my azz handed to me by him, 4cars+. Also don't even know if I want to drop that kind of money in my car, it's still a honda...

I've raced many a Turbo Honda... and haven't lost very many... I've got a strong winning record. Like I said, Stage 2, a 2.8 or 2.9 pulley and a tune... and you'll be set.

I've got most of mine on Video. Race him as soon as he gets it done... that way he isn't used to the new power. He'll probably just spin a bunch.... and if/when you see him coming up on you strong... just slam the brakes... don't give him the satisfaction of a win! Haha.

Like I said... I've race a bunch of turbo'd Hondas... haven't lost too many. There are a few that are forces to be contended with... it just depends on the size of his kit... and how smart he is with it.

And 170 in a Civic HATCH/CRX can keep up, possible beat a stock SS... Del Sol... doubt it. Cars like that lose speed BIG TIME up the top end... like 4th and 5th gear.

The Del sol curb weight is 2560 pounds
http://www.theautochannel.com/vehicl...s/gap9623.html

The Cobalt curb weight is 2806 lbs
http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2...08/142358.html

That’s only 246 in the weight difference sorry but the Del Slow is the heaviest Honda beside’s the prelude. He will be quick ill give you that stage 2 on the bolt and you will give him a run for his money and he will wonder why he put to much money on a Del Slow.

Like I said... depends on how good of a kit he got. It could just be an eBay kit with a tiny turbo and a bad tune... or even NO tune. It just depends.

You NEED stage 2 though. The get Stage 3 and a 50 shot! Haha

Him. Turbocharged B18 in a lightweight car.......def makes for a badass combination.

My 2.4SS got smoked by a EG (92-95) coupe w/ a H22 swap w/ a full exhaust and a CAI. While Honda's get bad names alot, there are some Hondas out there that really rip. Im going to watch my friend Pat run his fully built all motor Prelude SH tommorrow up at MIR. He just put some slicks on the front and put a base model lude tranny in it for the shorter gears. NamedGoBalt is already up there with him today actually, but im meeting up w/ them tommorrow.

lol, doing better than I was at 17. When I was 17, I for sure didnt have a $20,000+ car. Rather, I had a $5,000 '88 RX-7.

Did you even think before you typed? If he has more power, and weighs less, how is he gonna beat him? Use common sense.

But in all honesty, yes a turbo B18 will probably leave you way behind him. If he was NA with a few mods even then itd be a close one. SAy what you want about the looks, but when it comes down to it, those Del Sol's can rip you a new one. ( First hand experiance)
Im going to have to agree with you. Did u even think before you said it? More hp and he would take him top end? NO ive always been under the assumption of a car with more hp will always take you if u give it enough distance... i raced a new m3 from a roll and i got him off the jump, but sure enough he slowly rolled right on by....

thankyou senses, Lighter, more hp will always win, unless they changed gears to something completley idiotic. But just because a vechicle has more hp doesnt always mean it will win. I think I could take a Peterbuilt. But after a few miles I think it would get me. lol.

tell that kid to be different and do something unique instead of doing what everyone else does to a honda...

that kid needs like an engine swap AND a big ass turbo just to even beat you...thats pretty sad, tell him race what he's got, of course hes talking big now cause he got a turbo in a rice, but ask him what bout racing with his del sol now?

then see who does the talking

you...

p.s....hondas are really slow and they suck (sorry if i offended anyone on here, but im anti-honda), i hate them with a passion
