Stock Nissan Maxima V6 vs 06 SS S/C
now i need to find one and race it from a dig, this ******* in a maxima thought he was cool with his friend and decided to gun it from a roll... i downshifted to 2nd gear and distroyed him, i immediately passed him and he just slowed right down and didnt do anything after that... i have a brand new 07 too it barely had 1500 k on it.
This is wierd...my buddy has an 05 3.5 maxima and he gets his ass handed to him by my friends Integra Gs-r...which I walk in my cobalt. I think I have that race on my computer at home too (Gs-r versus the maxima)...very odd...unless of course the 06 models are just that much faster than 05??
He wanted to bet my buddy a thousand dollars that he would mop him to haha...all he kept saying was "this has the 350Z motor in it...this has the 350Z motor in it"

a 6 speed maxipad should run a low 14...a automatic will run a mid-high 14.....it will be a good race if both are stock and the maxima is an automatic.
maximas weigh 200lbs more than a altima...not too much of a difference.

Yes it will definitly be a drivers race, the fastest run of a 2005 nissan maxima for caranddriver is a 14.6,@98MPH,and they have a topspeed of 145MPH,govonor limited, and the altima, well that would be a really good race, the altima can run a 14.2@100MPH,and they have a topspeed of 150MPH,and who ever said that the SE-R altima is just as fast is crazy.my family is altima fans,my dad has a SE-R altima.and my brother has a base 3.5SE,but with manual transmission, and the SE-R,walks him preety bad.and they are both really good drivers.i plan to get my ss/sc,soon but i know for sure that i dont want to race my dad.but i think you should be able to take a stock maxima, just dont mess up,because they are not slow at all.theres a vid on streetfire of an auto altima 3.5,walking a 2005 SRT-4 several times.go watch it and tell me what you think.but good luck, and shift your car, very accurate.

btw.. the NEW Maxima's lost power.. because of CVT and the new SAE standard.. don't believe what you see/ hear.. I dyno'd my car, and got 230.7fwhp with an AEM intake and that's it.. so, if I were to advertise my car, I could say it has 270hp for eg... depending on what drivetrain loss is etc.. 15, 18, 20%.. you get the idea..
Maximas and Altimas are not slow, nor are they god's gift to speed..
and no, the SE-R isn't any faster.. it is the same motor.. different body kit, rims, exhaust, intake I believe from factory, and small cosmetic changes.. with the added weight, it could potentially be slower than a base model with the 3.5L..
they may share the 350Z motor, but they are heavily de-tuned for comfort..
the new Maxima rates in at 255hp.. do the math.. and it weighs, what? 3700lbs??
and it isn't all about power etc.. take into effect gearing as well.. I love my car because when I've finished redlining 3rd, 4th feels like the car grew nitrous man.. it just hauls ass.. i love it..
oh, and the Impala would win..

Making a lot of uneducated guesses aren't you?
If I could I would.. but I'm stuck for another few years with it.. so I continue to be nice with it so it doesn't explode on me, then I will turn it in and never look back..

i don't see how this is true at all... you should never paper race, it only makes you look stupid...
a maxima weighs in at more like 3800 with auto tranny, and has 265 hp... that means approximately 225 to the wheels factoring in 15% drivetrain loss... most stock ss/sc's are putting down 210-220 whp on a dyno... so, it's similar hp, and a good 800 pounds less... how does that translate into being fender to fender again??
and saying that the 350z owns a cobalt shows that you really don't know what you're talking about... no offence dude, but make sure your research is more than looking up magazine #'s that aren't even correct...
