They are nothing special with the stock tune. I had an LS2 A4 GTO before the Cobalt and honestly at higher speeds the TC Cobalt seemed to be at least as quick stock for stock but the GTO will cut a 1.7-1.8 sixty foot time stock.

That's because you had the slush box, when one gear goes about 55 before the next shift through a torque converter it won't feel that fast usually. But what you seem to feel and what is are two different things, the top end of the GTO is much better then a TC. The trap says it all, 109>104.

I have never heard of a 1.7 sixty foot on stock tires, I think the best I have seen is a high 1.8.

^ Haha, butt dyno's aren't always truthful!

It's kind of funny, there was a race here one day with a kid I know who has a very strong pullied Cobra and he ran a cam only (with supporting mods) A4 GTO. I figured the cobra would pull the whole time, come to find out the race was almost neck and neck all the way to well over 130. Bad part abuot this race was the GTO owner got alot of flack because he had his young kid in the car, and my friend didn't know he did since he was little and in the back seat. Sounded like a heck of a run, but the kid should have stayed back!

Think before you speak. I'd love to hear what you are going to do with any of the cars you possess.
Thats too bad, I never talk about what I'm "going to do". My daily driver Buick Regal is already 2 seconds quicker in the 1/4 than your race car project that'll never be done. And my GTO has already ran 11's. I'll let you know whats done the next time it's been done.

I ran 13.0 and 110mph stock, my 60's were 2.1-2.2. Sorry but your eyes decieve you because you own a SS/TC.

funny thing is that my Camaro breaks 9's in the 1/4 mile so that little project is already completed. i dont see why you cant fathom a supercharged 2.4 cobalt, thats cake and chips compared to that camaro. If you referring to the RWD part of the Cobalt, I'm stopping at no more than 350-400whp because you dont need more than that for drifting, which is what the Cobalt is going RWD for. Anymore comments or questions about things you dont know about?

I do I do, I want to know more about this Camaro. Motor specs, Rear end, tranny. Is it mini tubbed, back halfed, what tires are you running. Is it sprayed, boosted or all motor. Got pics? I dig old school, I especially dig old school big blocks that are all motor.

Wouldn't it just be cheaper just to by a Rwd car for drifting?

it would be cheaper to just buy a used 2.4 solstice and supercharge it....

(I know of a tampa local that got a caddy catera, and drifted it, he got it for 800 bucks.)

yes but i want to make a cobalt drift. but i wont go out of my way and spend my life and quit working and spend all my money on it. its just a sideshow. if it works, great. if not, ill just buy something else.

it would. i would actually use a Sky because i like those better. Have you ever heard of someone using the LSJ M62 on a 2.4 Sky or Solstice and it worked? I assume since its the LE5 like mine it would fit up just fine but under the hood I'm sure is smaller and a little different so it would probably be tough.

specced a little over 700bhp on a motor dyno. no boost or spray. ALL MOTOR baby! my dad doesnt like forced induction on older cars. and he only likes superchargers and not turbos. Thats probably where I get my love for superchargers from. Not a huge fan of turbos.

Why would you have to use an LSJ supercharger? There are plenty of solstice/sky kits that have nicer blowers, that are made to fit the solstice/sky.

I was only laying out the things that I saw from the video and made an assumption of the 2 cars. I know a lot about the TC but apparently not much about the GTO; could be because i dont like them that I dont research them much.
Can't wait to never hear about your RWD cobalt.

just so you know, a stock solstice/sky drivetrain will not handle drifting for long at ALL.
