My friend has a 883 Custom sporty and claims to wax vettes and GTO's all the time, and hes been itching to give me a run, but im not too keen on high speed runs cuz he doesnt wear a melon protector.... if we were to go, what should happen.?

 

i seen a 1200 sportster with some bolt ons only run 99 in the 1/4 . id say you would be fine.

 

That guy is full of it no way a 883 sportster would beat a vette. Im guessing the 883 is a 14 sec bike

Most of them are geared super low so they only have top speeds of 120 something.

Sportsters are about 13 second bikes for the average rider

 

no way, i got a 03 sportster 883 and it would get eaten alive if it was from a roll

a dig, id blow you away

 

100mph trap is fast enough to get into the 12s it is all about the launch

 

My friend has an dyna super glyde with cams, dyno tune, exhaust, and this is with the 96cu inch motor even with a 1.75 60 foot he only runs a 12.6. from a 40 roll I pull on him easily. from a dig on the road is a different story. You will kill a 883.

 

yeah if your car can go over 118 you can beat the 883. A stock Scion TC will beat one given enough time to catch up
