Turbo Redline vs. 500whp STi and GSX-R 1000 (vids)
A bunch of friends and I went out for the monthly big cruise night last night, and after most of the older crown went home quite a few of us stayed out to go play on the interstate. I was jut planning on tagging along after I set some races up for some friends, but I ended up getting into the fun a bit. I had set my friend Terry up to race the 490whp Evo I ran a while back along with a 526whp STi. Terry's setup is in the video, built bottom, stock heads and stock cams (holding him back severely, lots of potential left), rotated pte6262 on E85. Made a touch over 500whp on 30 lbs, and runs were done on 26 lbs where it dyno'd 488whp. No use in 30 lbs for the little bit of power 4 lbs gained him due to the lack of flow from the stock cams an heads. Well he put about 2 cars on the Evo and the other STi got him by about a car, so I ended up next to him where we decided to do a little pull. He honked it down from 45 and we were both ready for it brake boosting. The mic on the camera cut out, so that sucks, so you can't hear it all. But I can not speak highly enough of these R888 tires, as you can see he never gained an inch on me, even with him brake boosting 20+lbs with complete traction being AWD. I let off around 140 and he told me he went until he saw my brake lights.
After we pulled into a rest area along the Mexican highway, we were about to leave and let some other guys race while a few of us went ahead. A friend of mine asked if I wanted to race this GSX-R 600 and I agreed. Well when he went over there it wasn't the guy he thought it was, and it was actually a GSX-R 1000 I said well I already said I would so lets see how good the zoom on my camera is lol. We just went from 60, using my phone to record instead, and he let off when I was around 125 or so, since he was just pulling anyways. Still a fun run! Anyways, here is the video of both

I'm not sure yet. Cmiller trapped ~133 with around 530whp or so (correct me if I'm wrong) and I should be around 550whp right now.
Cleaning out my car I realized my camera was in my back seat under a sweater Sony CX-150HD
Why would I want to do that when I have the fueling to run E85? Also, at this level the drop in ethanol content becomes much more apparent when it comes to allowed advance. Hell, on my friends Evos (make much more power than me, so it will be more exaggerated) there is a very significant difference in the amount of timing you can get away just from the different blends varying from up to E90 down to E70. If I happen to run out of fueling I'll just build the fuel system a little more stout. Straight E85 or the car is parked forever for me I don't like to compromise, so if something isn't up to par I will just solve he issue and make sure it is ready for the task.

Looking at a log from the dragstip when I was trapping 130's to a street log of me running 25 psi on the 6262. I am almost .5 sec faster now 70-120 then I was then. Some of it is the extra shift I no longer have. But I would have to see your speedo movin to tell better. I bet your at least a 130 trap right now.

I just like the idea of running straight E since I've done it for over 5 years and its simple and no bill nye at the pump lol. And when pushing it on a bigger setup full E85 will make more power as you approach the limits of the advance a fuel can handle. On more conservative setups you won't get near the limits of either E47 or E85 so the difference will be nearly non-existent.

If you guys are ever in the Bismarck, ND area go visit Taylor for an evening. Every time I've gone there it's been like a kid in a candy store event. The whole city is about cars and racing. Every night is just going out and playing around. They've got a sweet section to rip also. I'll be back out there in September for Shenanigans. With or without my Balt is yet to be decided haha.
Shiiiit Taylor you weren't kidding that GSXR moved out on ya lol.

Bismarck isn't very far from me I may have to make a trip sometime if work slows down. How far is it from Minot? I was just through Minot and Grand Forks 3 weeks ago.

Yeah I knew the gixxer was gonna run away lol, but it was still fun. Might need to wait for the Supra or the Evo to battle it out with him!
Dustin (Blue) definitely came down during the heat of the "street racing" season both times We went out every night he was here and had runs going all the time. Now that I'm back from Vegas I should be getting some more runs in soon
