Right...

I lined up from a 40, stayed next to him until about 75, and only got pulled by a couple cars to 110, but my car was really nasty down low. If we had kept going, it would have gotten really ugly.

Can't argue with a 3100lb car with 440+whp in stock form. They ******* fly.

Yep,

Was on the Highway on this lame as cruise. A honda Civic(95-96) turbo(intercooler was barely holding on by something ghetto for dear life) that had a rear bumper flapping and was so low that sparks every now and then would come out from the bottom. Not to mention the pethetic fart can and the engine... if engines could cry and scream, it would have been a drama queen. So he still offers I guess cause I'm just a Cobalt, right? At his 3 rd honk in 3rd he takes off. Ummm I didn't step on the gas yet, let him get in front of me about a car and then floored it. Pass him in a matter of sec and then slowed down only to speed up when he would approach. My friend then lowered the passenger window, stuck his hand out with a thumb at neutral then Down. That's what the guy got for playing with fire.

Greetings from Malaysia,

Fortunato

Edited for correctness..

No story here as I very rarely race and if I do it is on a some what worthy competitor. If I was going to say something though I would say any economy car (IE Focus, Cobalt, Cavalier, Rio, XB, XA, ect...)

PS, though I did have a 5 spd 4 cylinder Ranger try me for two straight lights the other week on my way to lunch...

I didn't know if he was serious or not...untill the light turned green and he peeled off. Then I pulled up next to him at the next light...rev'd again. I just kinda shook my head. I was making the left anyways...

What do you guys do in this situation? Do you actually race ones that you know you'll win or not?
Well I've never raced before, and I'm still not 100% with the manual thing, been driving an auto until back in August when I baught my balt. So, the first few people I race, even if they have 'crappier cars' I won't really stand a chance with.

i always get the ricer flybys in my cobalt, one tried racing me i thought he had a turbo cuz i saw the huge intercooler so i was like ok i floored it from a 20 in 1st till bout 90 then i let off i didnt really see how far i was ahead cuz of the traffic ahead but my friend in the passenger said it was a slaughter. once we pulled over so we can talk he popped his hood. i saw no piping, no turbo, the intercooler was just there, holding on by like a couple of screws onto the front bumper with like some metal plates that looked like a ruler. i laught a lil inside then he asked to see my turbo, i laughed even more when he thought my alternator was my turbo XD other than i dont usually race cars that arent worth it, unless theres a cute girl driving lol =)

I find it funny anymore. When I was younger I would look for a race anytime and usually find one. I would be the guy who hit on it next to you while you're only trying to drive to work. I could always find a race somewhere after provoking someone and enjoyed it.

Granted i'm not old by anymeans but at 26 I drive alot different now. Just yesterday while crusing around I passed by 2 99-04 gt mustangs, 1 05+ GT, 1 98-02 WS6 T/A, Turbo Solstice, Magnum R/T, and the list goes on. Not a single person messed with me and I kept an average of 31mpg.

I'm getting old

That's what everyone says, it's always CYOA. My buddy wrecked because of lack of skill/stupidity but tried to blame it on an "imaginary" deer, cops didn't buy it...

The only people who tailgate or try to race me are folks driving GTS Lancers, Mazda 3s, full size pickup trucks and big ass SUVs (You guys have pretty quick trucks down south, we don't). I "get rid of them", I don't really race them.
See, it's the same stupid situation everytime, it never fails; when they see me pass by at a greater rate of speed in the left lane for example, they get behind me and tailgate like they're gonna give me a lesson or whatever. I'll usually be patient until I get sick of them riding my ass at 120k when they were casually driving at 100k 10 secs before that. When I see that trafic in the center lane clears ahead, I accelerate at wot, leave them waayyy behind thinking wtf?, casually move over to the center lane when I have room to do so and so they can pass me & give me the usual ricer flyby...
Then 200 metres ahead they go back to their 100k and I wind up passing them at my 120k a minute later. Unworthy, satisfying nonetheless.

I HATE when people do that^. Ride your ass, pass you, get in front then slow down. There is no point in that.

I've seen stickers that say "the closer you get, the slower I go" perfect for you haha
