Also to add the weight, I am a larger guy than George, lmao. If I remember corrently I didn't have time to take a healthy dump before hand either.

Plus when you look at my driving record compared to his, well he is just better, lets leave it at that.

keep in mind you beat the driver, not the car. Also, why are we comparing a modded car to a stock car? Not very fair. Also, I'm sure your mods + price of your vehicle are more than an ss/sc anyways.... i have about $1200 in performance mods...probably about what you have am i right? I'll race you any day.

Having no leather seats, moonroof, and lighter rims WILL NOT save you 200-300 lbs. I wish it was that easy to reduce weight. Even if you did lose that much weight, the standard saying goes, for eevry 100lbs of weight reduction, you shave .1 off the 1/4 mile.

The SS SC curb weight is 2991 lbs, see here.
http://www.edmunds.com/new/2006/chev...991/specs.html
The SS Sedan curg weight is 3216 lbs, see here,
http://www.edmunds.com/new/2006/chev...969/specs.html

Considering that leather is standard on the SS/SC, as is the sub and all the other goodies, how is GTP's Sedan lighter? Unless curb weight doesn't tell the story. If I'm confused let me know, but I was under the impression the SS/SC was lighter than the sedan. And hey, keep tuning dude, every Cobalt that serves up a rice burner is a victory in my book. I love Cobalts, and hate rice burners, keep slayin em dude.

Oh my name...Well, let's just say you don't want to be deployed to Iraq with me and work in confined spaces. The food was awesome, but it would give me horrible gas some nights.

Didn't I just say NOT to quote Edmunds..you know its amazing that I take the car to a scale...report the weight AND yet people STILL DO NOT BELIEVE IT!! Arrggg society today. What can I do to prove it....pictures, blood test, polygraph...why would I lie...it is what it is

Edmunds published weight is for a fully loaded 4 door ss with leather, sunroff and sound system and probably auto.. that's the weight difference just look it up.

I've spent $185 on the intake and $400 on the tune. Done. As for the race youngster, get a few national championships under your belt then come knocking

Calibrated scale..its how they make their money..my brother (local Sheriff) uses it for overweight vehicle citations so it has to be accurate for court purposes...if anything its heavy...think about it.

Sounds reasonable, thanks for the info. I stand corrected on GTPs weight. Now I want to weigh mine in.

Driving skill can only be had by experience, natural talent, and teachings and of course having the Apex for lunch

Hey Stink I think another factor is also side air bags ....That whole system is heavy as well. Mine doesn't have the side air bags either..Its a stripper.

Ooowaa..Glad your home by the way.

Yeah, glad to be home too. I got off the plane, relaxed and then decided I wanted a Cobalt, so here I sit. G5Mike I'm in the United States Marine Corps. You guys got 3 year enlistments? Must have been kick ass, I'm working into my 4th year and still on my first enlistment.

I don't think mine came with side air bags either. I test drove an SS sedan that had them and it said "airbag in on the pillar, but my SS/SC doesn't have that.

We have quite a bit in NC, much much more than regiment. If you see a Marine unit on the news and they have a 2nd in the title, then they are based in NC.

That's the problem with these cars period...they'd all be alot faster if we could get the power down.. We're forced to get a arm bushings and stiffys..
