your pretty cocky for a guy only making 300, sure you can race my h/c camaro if you want your ass handed to you.
Do I get to race your camaro in mine???? Would you like to put money on it?
You want to start bringing other cars into the mix huh??? You can tell your a young tool. "oh yeah well my OTHER car can beat the car we are talking about." In addition you must be pretty nieve to think the cobalt is the only car I own AND to assume you h/c camaro is faster.

(this is the point where I make the jerking off motion and tell you whatever)

If our axle's are rated to 400 why do they sell upgraded axle's that are rated to 400 seems fishy
hmmmm....well for those of you (ahem lsjwannabe) who can put two and two together...the company selling them is in no way shape or form trying to make money. I guess the same way they sell people strut tower braces for $100.00 dollars claiming your track times will increase by 3 seconds. When they cost about $20 to make and they help very little. Use some common sense.

and I certainly know what my pistons are rated at!!! Thats why I said screw axles...I'm worried about the internals

The best is ONLY.... yeah only 312whp in a 2900lb car

ONLY....hahaha

Sooo, I don't get the 305 hp badge, you obviously don't make 305 hp, well maybe at the crank I guess! And it doesn't help that you are running some heavy ass wheels too, the 2nd gear roll at 40 you did better, but I still for one don't see him walking on you like that, secondly walking an LS1 T/A like that.... Oh, well maybe it was the Mexican air!

The guys who say it shouldn't have been that bad don't realize the difference in torque between the 6.0 and the 2.0

My car has 270whp and only 228wtq. That 6.0 is putting out about 340wtq.
That is a huge difference in 2nd gear @ 40mph. He is no longer dead weight.

So I don't know why everyone is so surprised. Cobalts do loose guys and we also win, what can you do?
Why don't some of you guys race some 6.0s and post the vid?

It's all for fun guys. Now I will do some cooling mods and update the tune and run it again. We'll see what happens. SloWSHO is a cool guy, he'll run it again sometime.
My car isn't nearly as moded as some of the guys on this site. Those small pulleys up the torque which is what we need but I need a daily driver. It's all good people.

Its easier to help someone out that isn't thumping their chest thinking their car is the shiznit. Having said that, I went as low as a 2.9" pulley with the factory tune and a CAI. THe daily driveability was still there and if anything the boost built up faster. You should consider a smaller pulley since as you stated, it helps with the torque. Whether or not you have the GM SII tune, you can still benefit from HP Tuners. Also as already mentioned, if your wheels are after market, make sure they're at least the same weight as the stock wheels. That extra rotating mass won't help with your torque and puts extra stress on your axle. Its always fun making speed regardless of what it is until people start bragging and tooting their own horn.

Yes it is fun. The wheels are fine. They are maybe 2lbs. heavier than stock.
So 8 extra pounds is fine. I hear you on the pulley but I don't care about being the fastest.
I want a little bit of everything, looks and speed. I'm not rich so I have to spread it out.
I'm going to do some cooling mods and update my tune. That will help.
I don't want to go with a smaller pulley because then I need 60lb injectors and that's not where I want to go with this car. Check out my garage you'll see what's done. All I have left is a bigger H/E and a Hurst shifter to install.
Thanks for the kind words TXRLU. Some guys around here aren't 12.

again...312 whp is more than some LS1's in a 3600 pound car...go tell them them that that is not that much.

Your not a very bright young man are you?

Have you ever been in a FWD car with over 300whp? Obviously not. For a FWD car that is plenty of HP. I have traction issues at highway speeds.

For RWD muscle car no 312 whp isn't great...for a FWD car that weighs in just over a saturn..312whp is quite a bit of horsepower.

wow since when to stb increase track times?
I don't even know why I waste my time explaining thing sometimes to arrogant know it all kids. Frame stability plays a crucial part of racing...take your front sway bar off of your mighty H/C camaro next time you go to the track...I will bet you your car that your quartermile time is faster.

When you are done you can come back and apologize for being an ignorant know it all.

So where are your 1/4 mile times???
I'm not going to drag at the strip...my axles won't hold!!

I don't have a blow down tube for my bottle yet so I can't get into the track.

I'm not too worried about it though. I could really care less about what I "cut" in the quartermile to be honest (at least in this car). Anytime I have ever raced on the street it has never been a..."ok lets line them up and somebody get out to start us" or "meet me at the industrial park at 2 in the morning...lets do this"

It's always been a going home from work and have cars pull up to smoke the slow bolt on the highway. I have fun in the car thats all that matters. I don't need to go beat on a car not designed for a drag strip at the drag strip just to post up times on "cobaltss.net" to have everyone argue over them. When I get there I get there. Until then I will just post my experiences from my ventures home. Not saying I want to do all my racing from a roll, just how it's been. I fI hit a light next to a car that wants to go...I'm game. In fact if anyone on this site lives near me I will be more than happy to race them...roll or dig.

Watch out he's got a 900whp Supra too!!
Yes I was totally kidding.

Besides, an experienced driver racing a non experienced driver from a dig has NOTHING to do with how fast his car is...dig racing tests the car and the driver both...roll racing is all car, any. If you want to see how fast your car is compared to someone elses...race from a roll...if you want to see if you can out launch them or can out drive them...go from a dig. Personally, I will race from a dig, from a roll, witha passenger, with groceries, with a flat tire. Racing is racing...get over it...like fighting...there are no rules and only pussies hollar about them.

i have a balt also probably 270whp sorry it not that fast. 312whp more than some ls1's... you mean stock ones right, gl finding a stock ls1. I have traction issue's at 50 just means i need better tires than stock, it doesn't mean my car is all powerful. I thought we were talkin about strut tower braces not sway bars?

[QUOTE=FNFAST;1103125]I'm not going to drag at the strip...my axles won't hold!!

i thought you don't need axle's you just need to know how to drive they are ratd to 400 hp aren't they?

I was being a smart ass...hence the I'm really not worried about the axles man. If they do break for some godly reason...I am sure they sell more, not a big deal

So there is a chance that you car doesn't have 312whp you just got on an inflated dyno???
There is that chance, yes.

There is also that chance of it having under guessed my car and it really has 400whp too...because dyno's are so inaccurate that they are the standard when it comes to rating a cars HP.

Then there is also that chance you could win the lottery... Good luck with that.
