Word to the wise... Do not try and race an Evo VIII!

So today i was leaving work and I drove the SS (usually drive the truck). As I got on the on ramp I saw this mitsibishi looking thing behind me. Also noticing the huge innercooler and funky hood i realized it was an Evo. Well as we both merged on the highway I was wide open, 13 psi boost, 3rd gear, 80 mph and still pulling hard when the Evo came around me and passed me like i was chained to a pole. The turbo, bov and exhaust was so friggin loud it made my ears ring!
So i was wondering, how much is an Evo VIII and how fast are they? It didnt look (or sound stock).

Hey i was impressed....

Jeff
2005 SS/SC
Fast.. (but obviously not fast enough)

sad thing is in The Fast and the Furious 2, a v6 Convertable eclipse was able to keep up with it... and i saw the same eclipse that was in the movie at universal several times (Year Pass Holder) and the eclipse quarter mile time was a 15.8 LOL sad.... welcome to movie magic.

evo's are fast and sexy cars. no other car can compete with it in it's class. an STi comes very close to it though. but i would choose an evo over it. can't wait till i get my fat raise next year. gonna think about selling my car and get me an evoIX.

true, but then i know plenty of evo owners and none of them are stock either.

besides even if the evo is stock, it's gonna take more than cai, header, exhaust, pulley kit, etc. to beat an evo.

Well I normally have a project car (IE, 69 911S, 66 911, 70 911T)... well when I sold the last one I made quite a bit of money on it. So at first I had decided to not use it on another project but instead towards a big down payment... Looked at Vette, Lexus, Benz, BMWs etc... Then decided to keep and little and spend a little... Looked at Evo, STI, R32, and Supra TT (a good low mileage one)... Fell in love with the Evo.. Was going to buy it... The day before I was going to go do the paperwork and pick it up I found a 1972 911S I couldnt pass up on. So I decided to get the SS/SC and the 911..... So instead of having 1 money pit (Evo) ... I have 2... Exactly where I didnt want to be again...
