I still love the fact that some people here argue gas mileage numbers.
I think you would all be surprised if you actually seen what a LS1/LS2 can do for MPG on the highway. In my LS1 Camaro's 30mpg was easy in my GTO with only 2,700 miles on the clock I allready see 29mpg.

Seriously I like the GTO, but why do they always come here to prove themselves? Theres something wrong about a V8 muscle car having to prove itself on a 4cyl chevy website.

Love the sound of the GTO and its a good ride. I had my first ride in one down in orlando a few weeks ago as we dont have them up here. Great car, but its not 'all that' thats for sure, and certainly within reach of a modded cobalt. Been in many cars that could serve it its ass.

i put 10 lenths on cobalts with 2.85 pulleys and full header back exhaust , a 6.0 with a good driver would eat you up from a dig easy 5 lengths
^^ thats only because 6.0's cant lose man.

Man, thats not how its supposed to happen. When you floor the 6.0, the seas are supposed to part, the seats reach up to tickle your *****, and all other vehicles are vaporized.

I don't believe I have every posted any negative comment about any GTO actually I really like the cars, and have been thinking about getting an LS2 GTO. But the cars aren't in the same class and will never be in the same class so we aren't comparing apples to apples here it is more like grapefruits to tangerines here! But you guys and your ALMIGHTY GTO's, c'mon here talking crap because of a few asshats that say they "beat" a GTO.

why sit here and be like YAY when i had my cobalt i was neck and neck with v8's , when in reality they would put 4 cars on me from 40rolls and were running 13.2's at the track , its the sheer fact that the cobalt ISNT that fast i dont understand why people in cobalts with the stock blower even race 6.0 GTO's seriously there might be 5 cobalts on this site that could take a 6.0 GTO head to head at a sea level track, and there running nitrous or turbo or 2.5 pulleys with meth and then it would still be good runs
like common sense will tell you something when the 6.0 GTO's best STOCKtime is 12.88 while the cobalts best time FULLY modded is 12.84 , i really dont see how there is a race much less an argument , the 6.0 GTO isnt the fastest car ever but for the money its a ****** steal

Easy to get into the 12s or 11's the answer to that is anything but the Cobalt pretty much! Hell run Headers, Cam, intake blah blah on a GTO and boom already in the 12 prolly 11s with DRs and a decent driver!

I understand, but the GTO guys don't necessarily come over here looking for trouble. It always starts with a cobalt posting a "kill" on a GTO. The same thing is going on over the on the goat forums...a GTO posts a kill and a handful of cobalt owners go in there and defend themselves.
I guess it's just nature, everyone feels the need to defend their almighty cars.
And to the bold quote: I don't come here talking crap.....I own both, a cobalt and GTO. I have just as much right to be here as everyone else

Oh its just rediculous and pointless to keep argueing for 8 pages how a 2.0 car can compete with a 6.0 car. Weight, boost, tires, suspension, drivers everything has been argued to death thats why I said give it a rest!
The Cobalt is a great car, its still an ECONOMY car tho.
The GTO is a great car, Its still a modern muscle car.
Those two facts will never change no matter how much hate is thrown around.
