k ill get pics up soon... btw a 235 tire fits all around fine
ok i went to look around the back tires to see how much room is left. Mind you i have the 235/40/18 nitto 555. anyway thats a 9" tire and honestly there is barely enough room to fit the 235 so biggest i would say would be a 245 with a little modification of some of the stuff in there and you would proably need your offset to stick the tire out more to prevent rubbing the inside... so 245 might be possible but honestly im not seeing it happening. now a 9" rim would need a recommended 255 tire so unless you got that deep dish sticking the tire way out in the road you cant get a 9" rim.
like i said before if you want the bigger in the back look keep the stock tire size up front or shrink it down to a 205 and put the 235s in back or try and mod a 245 in there.... also just for clarification for a fwd car reducing the width of the tire infront will reduce your preformance some. And the benifits that a rwd car has with bigger tires in the back will not apply to a fwd car (yes a bigger tire in the back will add some preformance but it probably wont be noticeable or justifiable)

Hmm. Interesting. So, what's your plan of action?

??? maybe i worded that all messed up so you got confused. I have a 235/40/18 tire and it fits. That tire is 9" and from what i visually inspected getting a bigger one would be difficult. This guy was asking about a 9" rim and of course trying to go with a 9" rim would require a larger tire then mine (~10" tire) so since my configuartion doesnt allow much more room i dont see a 9" rim fitting on the cobalt
You can fit a 9" wide in the rear.... I know this for a fact because Im getting some custom made 3 piece wheels for my SS/SC. Clearance will be better if you put a streched tire back there. Im getting 18X8 in front and 18X9 in rear, the rear wheel is going to have a 2.5" lip. The company wouldnt tell me what offset though. Hope this helps....but get ready to spend some cash bro.

Not exactly bro, I asked them that too.... They told me that they wouldnt stick out, they said that it would be cutting it close. I told them that I was going to lower my car aswell, they said no problem all i need is a stretched tire.
Questions dont bother me bro.... Well the wheels are HD AutoArt 3 piece wheels, the arrival date...well thats going to be a about 3 months according to them, they have to custom drill them for our bolt pattern and for some reason they say it also takes a little while cause they have to put them together and i also have to wait in line. My SS/SC is Ultra Silver. Ill post a picture of the the wheels as soon as I figure out how to post pictures on here.

A few points.
this smells of rice when you want the LOOK of RWD. I dont think it looks good at all.
9" is funcitional for more traction. the backend can whip out so for that point you could give a functional reason for it and that is good. then it is not ricey.
why would you not go 9" on the front to0? you can. just maybe not 18 or 19". It has been done with a 17" which is my dream to do. but you show me where there is a 17x9 wheel out there with the right offset. wish there was a wheel manufacturer that would come up with this wheel concept and a set of 245/45r17 tires under the car would help cure some of our traction problems.

I concur. But even if it's not done for this reason, it's still doesn't qualify for the abused term.
I know you want deep dish but also if you wanted to and what a lot of the V-Dubs are doing as well as my friend will be doing is using a "if I remember correctly" 15mm spacer to also push the wheel out some.
