Flat tire

So i got a flat today, there is about a 3/4in long tear on the top of my tire. I have no idea how it happened but i was just curious if a tire place could repair it? Or am i going to have to buy a new tire? If i do have to get a new tire how much are the stockers?

A new tire more than likely. They can patch it from the inside out, but they probably wont. Anything more than nail sized cuts to many belts in the tire and it gets a buldge in it, reducing dependability and ride quality.
