Help! Locking lug question

Okay so I took my car to a dealer to get some small things fixed and my tires rotated for the first time. They say that the car needs a locking lug, but they they can't find one anywhere in the car! I know that I've never seen a locking lug in the car personally. To those of you with a SS/SC, did your cars come with a lock lug? Where is the damn thing?? Quick replies would be appreciated!

Not sure what they are talking about cause I've rotated my tires before and only used the tire iron in the trunk that's on top of the spare. (atleast from what I remember)

yes there is a lock nut on your wheels. Your dealer should have given you a puch with the key nut in it. If not time to get to a weldin my friend. Look in your glove box.

Oh trust me I've looked eveywhere and so has the dealer. Needless to say I'm pissed. This isn't my fault, it simply wasn't given to me when I bought the car.

what year is your car? By your join date I assume it's an 05. 1stbluSS as well. Maybe the 06's didn't come with them. BTW do you have a yellow thread screw thingy on top of your jack stand? what's it for?

that's to lower the jack bro...

anywho you will know if you have locking nuts. One of the lugs will have a weird hex design on the top of it. The unlocking nut will have the same design on the inside of it. The locking nut will also be flat where the others are rounded.

From what my dealer told me, putting the locking lugs on the car is a dealer choice, its not a requirement by GM. My dealer gave me some locking lugs because of the high car theft in the HRM area.

They also laser etch all my windows with a unique serial number to help ID the car if it is stolen, but thats apparently also a dealers choice.

I just assumed all dealers did that, and they said it was a dealers choice to make it look like they went the extra mile.

Yea, Mine didn't come with them. I bought some maybe a month after I got the car. Didn't stop the guy this morning though....

Anyways, new plan is for 2 standard lugs, 2 locks of one type, and 1 lock of a different type. I figure 1, it'll take longer, and 2, say if he already has a key, he'll need two different keys. Now it's time to start looking for alarms...
