NT-01 vs ET Street

I have an opportunity to get a set of 4 NT-01 tires for a VERY reasonable price. They are 245/40R 18s, and have been gently used(autocross track, ONCE.) but from the photos have PLENTY of tread life left.

Being a road course tire, I'd imagine that they'd never hook as well as, say, an ET Street.

My options are to jump on this deal for the Nittos, get more tire for less money, or play the waiting game and try to find a pair of ET Streets, or buy brand new ones.

What do you guys think? Wanted to ask for some opinions because this deal seems too good to pass up.

Well of course the ET Streets are going to be favorable in this situation. Its a drag tire.

I need opinions on whether this deal would be AT ALL worth it. I can get these 4 tires for what it would cost me to get two brand new ET Streets.

Will they WORK? Would this be in any way worth it? Do you think that these tires will provide enough traction, given that the car is lightweight and FWD. Or would I be that much happier if I just got the ET streets?

That pretty much lol

although those NT01's are going to be better than any street tire. And since you are getting 4 and only need two at a time to race, the set will last you longer!

Your an idiot if your gonna get the Mickey thompsons to drive around on. Go ahead and get the nt01's. Also if you are still on your stock rims then a 245 is too much tire to auto x on.

But if you really want some et's I'll sell you two for 400 shipped. They have less then 1000 miles and have made 3 runs down the drag strip and not one run was a hard launch, I'm talking more then 2.3 second 60 foot times.

Haa no. Will definitely NOT be driving around on these, its for a drag setup. They'll be put on a spare set of wheels.

I ran a pair of NT-01's as my street racing tires. They are sticky when warm compared to any normal tire, but are no match for a true drag radial. I loved the fact that I could run them with decent pressure and get fantastic handling and braking though, so if I drove on them for a weekend I wasn't only doing straight-line runs.

if you are looking for tire to run down the 1/4 mile than its no need to buy the NT-01 they tire wasn't designed for that type of racing style. So if you can get a set of ET streets from startingline (lol at the irony in your screen name with that 60ft lol jk) thats going to be the better option
