Some wheel/tire help please...

I've read the whole fitment FAQ, but I'm still a tad confused.

Okay, I'm trying to match up these rims:

Sport Max 006 17x7, 4x100, etc... http://www.sportmaxwheel.com/sportmax_006.shtml

With a set of tires.

I use the tire calculator (link) to compare my stock tires (195/60/15) with tires that are closest. I am seeing 205/45/17 and 225/45/17 are the closest matches. Within ~3%.

I shouldn't have any issues, putting these sizes on those rims, right?

I guess where I'm getting confused is, 225mm and 205mm is over 8 inches. But the tires are 17 inches by 7 inches. Am I looking at something wrong?

Thanks for any help you guys and provide.

The tires will fit the rims but they will have a little bulge to them as the rim is slightly narrow for them.

You should be just fine. I see the rim comes in a 17x8 also, why not get that?

And where is the pricing for them as they are the style I like too.

They don't sell them directly. Look around the net, I've seen them anywhere from $480-$600 for a set. I've found a local place that has them for about $550.

I haven't really looked for 17x8's, but I'm trying to do this on a budet and kept the whole wheel/rim set around $1000. Wider wheels and tires will surely inflate that total out the door cost.

Should I be looking at a different size tire? Something narrower?

Thanks Left I'll have to look around.

And the bulge wouldn't be much but thanks for the back-up.

It's quite a common size on the these forums. What about 205/25/17, that will be slightly narrower right? Too narrow?

Search for them on eBay. I found a few decent deals there. From actual shops, but just selling through eBay. That's how I found a local shop actually, they were selling on eBay also.

I just don't want something like this to happen (or the opposite):

And yes, I do understand some people do that on purpose, but I just want a normal fit. Not too wide, not too narrow.
