Exclamation SS/SC = Super Sucky in Snowy Conditions....also have a ??

I was all over the damn road yesterday (Stl viewers know what i'm talking about) I got stuck going up a little ass hill, had to make a run at it twice before i made it up tires constantly spinning, then on the highway if i went over 30, i would spin, then got stuck going up my hill in my neighborhood, had to have 2 people push me up, and then another "fail", i got stuck in my driveway trying to pull into the garage...DAMN stock tires are horrible, now i know what people are talking about!

Also, why would my ABS light and Ebrake light turn on and make a funny whining noise when im spinning my tires up hill? The abs stayed on after i turned off the car and back on, but then went away once i drove again, is this a safety or something, i was confused on this? any experience?

you dont want to run the stock tires in the snow as for the ABS...the front wheels were spinning faster than the rear so the computer thought something was wrong and applied the ABS. nothing wrong there. just drive it for a lil bit and it will go away...

yep, that's what happens when you drive with summer tires in the snow not sure about hte other stuff, but get some good winter tires and you won't have the traction issues.

Yeah you should probably get some cheap 16" wheels and snow tires for the winter. We've had a snowy winter up here by Chitown I'm sure you guys haven't had it much better. Even with snow tires these cars are still a bitch to drive. I've debated getting studded snow tires although they are illegal here in IL. Who the hell is actually going to notice these though? If they prevent me from getting in an accident then why not?

Summer tires in winter road conditions...Failed!

Last year buy winter tires, it's gonna be easier in deep snow and on ice...

Shoulda seen me today. My pirellis are dead bald all the way around. Every time I tried taking off at a light my front would slide sideways. Took me 45 minutes to drive 5 miles.

Needless to say, I was pretty scared. One thing I learned very quickly was you absolutely can not turn and hit the brakes at the same time. It's brakes very lightly until a slooooow speed and then turn.

I did all last winter on the stock pirellis up here in canada, it wasnt fun, never got stuck, but traction sucked, and it wasnt too safe. Got winters this year, and it was the best money i've spent on the car yet.

Lol... we measure snow in feet.. not inches...
Plus, at -30*C, stock rubber is useless.

LOL. I have snow tires and my SS/SC is a tank in the snow. I have never ever gotten stuck, even in ice. This is actually one of the best cars I've ever driven in the snow, I love it!

I'd rather take icey streets over snowy streets.... pending the fail boat didn't let the passengers off that day.
You can't get stuck on ice... but it's easy to get stuck in snow... especially with factory rubber.

We get ice here too. And it sticks around for MONTHS on the roads. Snows, gets packed down, they put salt on it, melts a little, then freezes to ice. Snows on top of the ice. Repeat cylce as mother nature wants.

Two simple words for all of this.....WINTER SUCKS.

All I gotta say is winterforce's + lsd = tank. I tried getting this car stuck, failed. I was out and just about had snow up to the fogs and it just keeps pulling. Sure it spins, control your foot and you will go better. Seriously, snow tires made one hell of a difference, I still can't believe it.
