A "taller" 17inch tire?

Hey everyone,

This low profile tire thing is pretty bad. I feel every single bump in the road since I live in the country. Im running the stock size tire for the 2.4 SS wheels. What size tire can I run for a taller side wall and a better ride?

Thanks in advance.

you should have bought a different car, these cars arent built for luxury and comfort, putting a big fat tire on a 17 inch rim will just look dumb

lighter cars feel bumps more than heavier cars. your car will never feel like your truck

What is the stock size? I was on 245/45/17 for 2 years and dropped the front to 225/45/17's. Ride was worlds softer on the 245/45. It isnt all about the series either. It is about the style of tire(built for handling has stiffer sidewalls), wether the sidewalls are stretched, and the actual sidewall height.

keep in mind a 245/45 is almost a full centimeter taller in the sidewall than a 225/45

The series is the aspect ratio. Its 45% of the tire width so since the tire is 20mm wider it would be taller too.

Consider getting Nitto Invo tires. They have a softer sidewall than most performance tires. My 235/35/19's ride nicer than my stock 215/45/18 Pirelli's did.

I am quite aware of how to size a tire. the sidewall of a 245/45 is 4.3 inches and the sidewall of a 225/45 is 3.9 inches. And I say inches because I am American!
