What offset for 18"x9"'s?

I'm probably going to be ordering some custom drilled and offset 18x9's in the near future. I'm just trying to decide on which offset. I would like to go with +38, but that may be a bit too aggressive considering I plan on running 255/35/18 Nitto Invo's (They run narrow. Probably narrower than some 245's). I don't have any plans to go any lower than my current setup, but that could change, since I change my mind more often than my underwear!

If you have 9" wide wheels (or 9.5" for that matter), please post your offset, tire size and how much clearance you have between your struts/springs. Pics would be awesome too!

These aren't the wheels I'm getting, but they are 18x9's with 255/35/18 Invo's.

lolz. Would 9.5's with +40 clear the front struts and rear inner fender well? 9'5's would give my spokes a little more Concave and the tires a little more stretch.

I'm pretty sure a 9.5 +40 would hit the strut. Maybe this will help ----> https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/auto...rrived-242175/

I guess I'd better stick to 9's. Do you think 9's with +38 would work? That would put my wheels 8mm closer to the struts than yours are.

I'll get a better measurement when I get a chance you should be fine with that. Just very camber limited up front but enough to get you within normal spec. Wish I had access to a drive on lift.

Feeling like an idiot here........but I just got a good deal on some Milli Miglia EV-R,18x9 wheels for my SS. They came with brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 225/35/18 tires. Am I looking at any issues, or need anything additional to mount these? I'm not clear on offsets, if needed, so please excuse the ignorance. Just want to make sure I am not setting myself up for an unsafe situation here. Thanks for any words of wisdom!

Check my sig. I went with 17x9 for my drag tires at 38mm offset. if your AUTOX or road racing you might want the offset another 1/2 to the outside. Ill post up some pics later.

Thanks! I'm just going to be having them for daily DD. I got 6 rims in the deal, so I will have 2 for slicks if I ever get the car to the track. What is needed for the offset? Is this something they can do at a tire shop? Sorry for being ignorant on this subject.
