wheels for the strip
wheels for the strip
whats everyone running at the dragstrip? my friends looking for a couple rims. steelies from another car or aftermarket. i think hes planning on using drag radials. he has a 08 or 09 tc. thanks in advance.
Steelies are normally very heavy.
A simple set of nice 17" alloys that are light should work great if they will fit over the brakes.
The smaller the rim, the better as normally you will want to let some of the air out for traction.
higher profile tires will sit with a larger contact patch to get more traction.

i just figured theyd be cheaper. ive got got some 15" steelies for my srt and was looking for something with a sidewall. whats the required specs for a 17" rim so it fits over the brakes?
I have been in touch with Enkei recently. I talked with a rep named King. He told me there is a new wheel coming out around the end of Sept. and they haven't fully decided if they're going to include our 5X110. He told me if there was enough interest they would build this wheel. It is a race wheel weighing LESS than 16# and priced about the same as the RPF1. Everybody interested in wheels should call this number, ask for King and tell him you want wheels for your Cobalt SS. He also told me the new wheel is being built to clear Brembos and probably in a 17" as well. EVERYBODY GET ON THE PHONE AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS, RELATIVES AND EVEN ENEMIES TO CALL. The more interest we can generate the better our chances. This is a NEW wheel so tooling won't be as big a factor as custom wheels, which they don't want to get involved with. 800-875-3100 CALL
