Steelies are normally very heavy.

A simple set of nice 17" alloys that are light should work great if they will fit over the brakes.

The smaller the rim, the better as normally you will want to let some of the air out for traction.

higher profile tires will sit with a larger contact patch to get more traction.

You can't go by offset and width on the SS/TC because of the Brembos. Spoke design has more to do with a wheel fitting than the measurements. They have to be test fit.

I dont know of any 17" steel wheels that fit. The Malibu/G6 17" wheels need about 8mm spacer.

I have been in touch with Enkei recently. I talked with a rep named King. He told me there is a new wheel coming out around the end of Sept. and they haven't fully decided if they're going to include our 5X110. He told me if there was enough interest they would build this wheel. It is a race wheel weighing LESS than 16# and priced about the same as the RPF1. Everybody interested in wheels should call this number, ask for King and tell him you want wheels for your Cobalt SS. He also told me the new wheel is being built to clear Brembos and probably in a 17" as well. EVERYBODY GET ON THE PHONE AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS, RELATIVES AND EVEN ENEMIES TO CALL. The more interest we can generate the better our chances. This is a NEW wheel so tooling won't be as big a factor as custom wheels, which they don't want to get involved with. 800-875-3100 CALL

I posted this info on another thread and caught hell.
