Are You Kidding Me
If they are a stand-up place, they'll work with ya. I'm confident it was just an oversight

I got all 4 rims replaced for flaking paint and coroded rims. GM knows about the problem and NO dealer can turn you away for warranty claims on them. Call GM and open a claim. The first dealer I visited said NO way, so called GM. I called the dealer back and spoke with the body shop manager that turned me away. He imediately checked the TSBs on the cobalt and saw the repair order/explanation for flaking paint on the wheels. He said he would contact the GM rep for his dealer. He also took pictures of every wheel. He called me 2 months later to say he was given the OK to replace 3 of the 4 wheels due to curb rash on one of them and that they would be reconditioned wheels and NONE were available imediately and he would get me a deal on the 4th wheel. The curb rash in question was VERY minor and the corrosion was so major that I questioned him about it. His reply was the wheel reconditioner needed the old wheels for a core and a dinged wheel would need a lot of reworking. Ok, I told him I would get back to him and go ahead and get all 4 for me. Out of disgust I drove 40 miles to a different dealer and told them nothing about the GM phone call or the other dealer visit. They ordered 4 new wheels and installed them under warranty. GM knows there is a problem and the dealer can't deny you. MORAL: Don not take dealers crap and go somewhere else.
no problem. i spend my hard earned money on a car that has a warranty. Some dealers suck, some are great to deal with. i hate to see people give up so easily when a dealer turns down their warranty claim. I am 35 and I sometimes wonder if a service rep or whomever at a dealership see's the younger genre getting into these cars and THINK they are pushovers. I don't want to believe it. These are great cars and I am sure some (alot) are abbused, a dealer can't tell if they are all the time and maybe just assume that a teen to 20something just abbuses their car all the time. If a mid life crises gentleman bought a Vette and had a serious issue You can bet they are'nt profiled as an auto abuser. Just don't give up, get educated on your car and its issue and take it as high as you can for satisfaction, and you get further if you know what your talking about and be nice. Just another2cents.
