Zzp fail

so iv been installing my buddys parts from zzp, first was the downpipe, the holes were to small on the rear flange, opened them up to 1/2 drill bit, next was tryin to put the o2 sensor in, wont go in, im guessing these idiots welded it and never re-taped the hole, email zzp twice and come back with 2 different tap sizes, m18 and 1/2 NPt 2 weeks later, either was correct, so hes still running no 02 sensor. next up was zzp uper charge pipe, we had to cut about 6inch off the turbo coupler, no 2 extra worm clamps, and these couplers were so hard to fit on the pipe it was just stupid. my experance with zzp was great, but my buddy's no so great. this is a head up, i dont think zzp has a quialty control department

so if someone can help me out, what is the o2 bung tap size?

m18x1.5 is a standard o2 sensor thread size. however if the threads are full of welding spatter you might not get it cleaned out properly, or it may be warped causing the issue. myself, id grind the bung off and weld a new one on. granted, not everyone has the capability to do that, id honestly be looking at zzp to warrenty the downpipe.

I don't know what happened. My ZZP downpipe was great and I have never had any quality issues from ZZP. Maybe your friend got a lemon. He should have gotten t-bolt clamps though with the charge pipe and all the turbo couplers have to be trimmed as they design them to work with the big turbo kit they sell as well. Oh well, sorry for the troubles with them. I'm sure they'll make it right.

its a known fact the couplers have to be trimmed....

for all the people whining about worm clamps...theres nothing wrong with them especially with the stock turbo. if installed properly you can get away with worm clamps just fine.

as for the 02 bung.... the only things i can think of that are wrong is the whole was drilled out enough and your 02 sensor isnt going down far enough..... theres weld spatter inside, or it warped pretty good. cant say ive ever had that problem but it can happen. im sure they will make it right.

ill probley weld a new bung on it, since theres no splatter in it an tryed the m18 tap. i dint know they had to be trimmed, i bought all my zzp stuff new a couple years ago, no problems with mine so recommend them to my buddy and all this happens, mine never need any trimming or anything and my downpipe was mint, i also notice they cheaped out and dint put a zzp badge on the downpipe also lol

I personally answered your email.
I told you that I GUESSED it was 1/2 NPT but I would double check. You received an email within some minutes telling you it was 18mm which is correct.

I was not informed to my recollection of the exit hole size but we always offer warranty/replacement/etc if there is an issue.

Not saying they didnt mess up, but ive bought their header/downpipe/3" intake/3.0 pulley/gm belt. Have had 0 issues with them. Quality control is there, but stuff does slip through once in a while.

Have you contacted them b4 bashing? I'm sure they'd swap it out for u guys

He did, and even got a response. Yet still felt the need to try and stir the pot. Guess he thought it would make him popular.
