I think I'm gettin these tires... (opinions?)
So as a follow-up to my xmas gift thread I think I've decided on getting these tires...
BFGoodrich G-Force Super Sport A/S (225/40ZR18)
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....FASXL&i1_Qty=4
For all the KDW2 fans I want to stay away from them since I'm in NJ and it gets pretty cold here and most people say they're cold-weather performance isn't too good. And for you guys who didn't see the original thread I wanted something that has very good dry weather grip but also does well in rain, cold weather, and possibly snow (not too big of a deal because I try not to drive in it). So what do you guys think? Not too bad of a price either.

225/40/18 on the 18 inch SS wheel is fine as I have been running them for almost two years now. I would go with the Yokohama S drive. Cheaper than the BFG and perform very well. I am on my third set. I drive my car in the rain, at the track, in the snow and ice whenever we get it in north Texas without any problems.
first off, our stock sidewall is a 45. so get 225/45/18. a smaller sidewall just give up more grip, its silly. If you choose to get a smaller sidewall you risk the chance of curbing your rims that much easier and like i said lose some traction in the straight line and around turns. go with a 45 sidewall. it came like that from the factory for a reason.

^^Took the words right out of my mouth haha. I was hoping to get them in 45's for the reason RestonSS was saying, but they only come in 40 so I'll just have to deal. I really doubt I'll be doing anything so drastic that that little bit will actually make a big difference.
I've had them on for the last couple weeks, can definitely vouch for their light-moderate snow capabilities. Now that we hit a slight warm spell the last couple days, I can also add that they hook up in the wet much better than the old Pirelli's. I'd say I'm impressed with them so far
I would go 225/45/18. I would also get the Eagle GT's as they look much more aggressive than the BFGoodrich G-Force Super Sport A/S look and have received excellent reviews. The BFG's are just too "Plain Jane" looking for me.
See chart below for the difference in size between the two. This will make a BIG difference on how they look on the car. I think the 40's will look too small unless the car is lowered as they will not fill up the wheel well. The 45's will also keep your speedo more accurate.

^^My car is lowered and to be honest the way the tread looks isn't a concern of mine at all. As long as it hooks up and I don't go sliding off the road it doesn't matter.
Yes, your stock tires are 45 series, but they are also 215's not 225's. Therefore since the aspect ratio of 45 is a percentage of the treadwidth, a 225/40 is going to be very close to a 215/45 in height. The difference between stock tire height and the 225/40 is .53 inches smaller and the difference between stock tire height and the 225/45-18's is .35 inches larger. So it's up to you whether you want bigger or smaller tires on there, personally I think that the 225/40s will be much better looking as well as better dry weather handlers, but whoever said rim damage is definitely right, don't hit any nasty potholes. You could even upsize to a 235/40 which would only be .22 inches smaller in diameter
And would look badass, and yes it will fit on your stock rims. Hope that helps, as for the tires, my buddy was a michelin rep and those were the tires from BFG (a michelin subsidiary) that he recommended but I went with the michelins instead, good choice man.

^^Thank's man. I'm not sure who started saying this tire comes in 45's because it doesn't 'til 245 so that doesn't really help me with these tires.
Yea but not any good ones since they haven't been on too long. I'll try to find some pics though.
