L.E.D. Reverse bulb replacement

okay anyone else get the LED replacements for the reverse lights bulbs??

I did they are 920 bulbs so i got replacements off of superbrightled.com and the bulbs don't fit in the socket.

Has anyone done this if so did they have to customize the sockets so they would go all the way in the sockets??

i bought my led reverse light replacemnt from superbrightleds also. i bought 194 wedge or whatever.

the reason why they dont fit is because you have to many leds on one set bulb. 4 led bulb will fit perfect with alot of power to them also.

i bet you got something with like 6+ leds. thats why they dont fit.

I have the same ones from V-LEDs, bright as hell and they fit fine. The amount of LEDs on the bulb have nothing to do with whether it fits in the socket or not though, that's based on how the base is built. If it's on the crappier side, they will have issues fitting, but I've never had any problem getting mine to fit.

dude, read what the OP said.

he bought his from superbrightleds. i bought mine from there too.

at first i got 6 leds, but the leds were preventing the bulb from going through the socket. so i had to settle for the slimmer 4 leds.

he did not mention he bought his from v-leds.

To the op, which socket are you talking about? The socket to lock the bulb in the tail housings? Or the actuall wedge socket for the bulb? To the guy above me, I completley understand what you just said.

Ya i guess he's right i have a " 921 - X12 wedge Base Led Bulb. I just bought what i thought would be a direct replacement didnt think the 194's you use for the license and map lights would work for the reverse even though i knew they have the same base. I have one extra WLED-X6 LED bulb which i'll go give a try now.

Those 12 LED"s considering the are a sealed looking board/bulb would anyone see any problem in trimming the plastic around the shank where it is to big since i bought 2 and sending them back would be a waste of 5.00 post. they are worth like 3.95 each.

turns out the 194 bulb i had extra, fits in the reverse light socket no problem!!!

Down sides are two fold. for one i have 2 extra 921 led replacement bulbs with 12 leds and for second i only have one 194 led for reverse. A little sucky but i might have been a bit hasty to do this mod.. I guess it only cost me 3.95 X2 in mistakes so no to bad.

I want to buy another 194 led but they have a minimum purchase at superbrightled.

awesome!

The plus about superbrightleds is that they're cheap.
