Thumbs down Beware Corsa Owners!!

Had a rattle in my exhaust for the past week and finally got her up on jack stands to check out my Corsa sport exhaust system and clamps. I discovered that the welds on the on the resonator (rear portion) broke away from the resonator canister about 1/2" pulling the baffling with it since it was still clamped to the exhaust tubbing going back to the muffler!! I know other owners have unfortunately had this same problem and was wondering what procedure I should take in getting this issue resolved...

Given that this system has ony about 10k run through I feel Corsa should have some responsibilty for it; I mean this is a top quality $800 dollar system, or so I thought. I love the exhaust and sound and now have an oppurtunity to swap it for a touring resonator since my sport WAS getting a little excessively loud; droning seemed to become louder the more miles I put through it. Any information or advice would be great, thanks guys/ gals.

See below pics for reference:

my corsa sport is fine, but noisy inside the cabin i am gonna change the resonator at least; a touring resonator is a good idea IMHO ....my guess power hop has killed your exhaust....

I do believe the culprit is obviously bad welds since similiar Corsa owners had the exact same problem.

Hade the same problem with mine. Just replaced it with a round magnaflow muffler/resonator. Sounds good and works alot better than the corsa one.

I can easily get it welded too but not satisfied with that approach. A Corsa product failing after such low mileage is unacceptable. It's suppost to be one of the higest quality systems out there for our cars and I believe still is other than the welds failing. I guess I'll make an attempt in an email to Corsa and see what they say.

F*ing awesome! Thanks 2fastSS! Unfortunately, I no longer have my receipt of proof of purchase, do you think this will be a problem? I already emailed Corsa sales to see what my course of action should be.

Ok guys need some more advice. Corsa has yet to take action on this issue after multiple emails. Unfortunately I have no POP of purchaser as original owner therefore they cannot honor a replacement. Is there any vendor that any one knows of that I could purchase just a corsa resonator?

Go to a muffler shop and buy a resonator from them and have it welded in.. that will be your cheapest bet.

Well I was emailing one of their technical reps back and forth but without a proof of purchase they unfortunately wanted nothing to do with me or the issue which is understandable, I guess. I would just weld or fab up another aftermarket muffler and be done with it but it just pisses me off that such an expensive, "high quality" system would fail with less than 10k miles of exhaust pushed through it. I guess I was making an argument on behalf of their welds failing so future owners wouldn't experience the same even though some already have! Oh well, that's the ass end of business I guess.

F.Y.I. keep all paper work of your products like you're suppose to!! lol.

I'm pretty sure a MN member had a corsa exhaust with a rattle issue and they warrantied it. Did you talk to corsa about warranty?

The Corsa catback has a life time warrenty. If something fails/breaks they will replace it. The nice thing about the Corsa catback is how it bolts together. If the resonator takes a ****, you simply unbolt it, and send it back to them. You don't have to take the whole friggin thing off, and send it back.

By the way, Corsa has since fixed the issue of the weld failing on the resonator. I asked before I purchased mine this past March

Common problem call them up there are lifetimew warranty. Or replace it with a magnaflow 4 inch round muffler 14" or 18". You'll love the sound makes it deeper and less drone from and already dronless system.

you dont remember where you bought it? Maybe you have an email confirming purchase or if you bought it on a credit card call the credit card company and ask them to look it up and give an approximate date.

Why do you state that this is not possible. Have you done it or herd it done? Just wondering because I'm probably one of the most picky people when it comes to having a good sounding exhaust system. This made a noticeable difference in my exhaust tone and even took away quite a bit of rasp. So again how is this not possible?????

I had the same problem, rewelded it, then realized that the welds on the inside of the resonator were broke as well, replaced it with a straight pipe after Corsa never responded to my email, I scraped the resonator wonder if they'll send me another if I call?
